Page creation mock-up[[edit source]]

According to T:SPOIL, this page can now be created. I think it would be useful to create it now, so that editors can add information during and immediately after broadcast. I made a mock-up for said page creation — it can be found here. Can an admin please create this?

Code Scene[[edit source]]

If anyone wants to examine the stuff from the code scene at the beginning, I think I got all of the stuff copied down that wasn't encrypted (gibberish)...maybe there's something in it. Anyways, it's here for whoever wants it. Maybe I'll go frame-by-frame later. [1]--Padenton 21:41, March 30, 2013 (UTC)

There was definitely more than that throughout the episode, I saw a few flashes of "msie", meaning whatever code was used in the episode was meant for use with Microsoft Internet Explorer. d 02:28, April 1, 2013 (UTC)

Year[[edit source]]

Is there anything onscreen that actually places this in 2013, rather than "ambiguous near future with 2013 vehicles, fashions and skyline"? -- Tybort (talk page) 22:38, March 30, 2013 (UTC)

Yeah, the official episode synopsis as used on iPlayer. "The search for Clara brings the Doctor to London, 2013, where something deadly is waiting in the Wi-Fi." [2]  Digifiend  Talk  PR/SS  KR  MH  Toku  JD  Garo  TH  CG  UM  Logos  CLG  DW  00:25,31/3/2013

Mysterious Woman[[edit source]]

I think some sort of note should be given that a mysterious woman (River?) gave Clara the number to the TARDIS. She said the number was the best help line out there, in the universe.

We can't say for sure right now, we have nothing proving who the woman was. Additionally, the "phone box phone" outright doesn't work (TV: The Empty Child), so there being a number at all is rather alarming. d 02:26, April 1, 2013 (UTC)
I find it quite reasonable to think that the TARDIS could ring the box herself if she wanted too. --ComicBookGoddess 20:08, April 1, 2013 (UTC)

The mention of her appearances in season 8 spoiled who the woman in that season is for me. Would it be ok to edit this part out of the main page?Goldfoot 20:14, March 11, 2016 (UTC)

Amelia's book[[edit source]]

I do think Clara's statement is "pun intended": I mean the one where the boy says he is now on chapter 10 and she answers "Eleven's the best!". I am not sure where this note should be inserted but do you think this is a naive remark? --Tito Plauto 13:28, March 31, 2013 (UTC)

The full statement is "Eleven in the best. You'll be crying your eyes out." And yes, I dis notice the in-joke. I'd put it under References if I was you. OS25 (talk to me, baby.) 17:10, March 31, 2013 (UTC)

Wi-Fi, Spoonheads and Data Ghosts[[edit source]]

Did anyone else feel that this episode strongly echoed The Library storyline. The whole "data ghosts in the wi-fi" felt really familiar. Also the fact that the servers heads are spoon-like and their heads rotate all the way round , also the fact they look like people that the person looking at them can relate to; very much like the courtesy nodes in The Library. Anyone else? --Invictus152 02:31, April 1, 2013 (UTC)

Absolutely. It seemed vaguely similar at first, but the physical shape of the Spoonheads really did it for me. Well, if there were ever to be an inspiration for the universe's biggest library, why not The Great Intelligence? d 02:29, April 1, 2013 (UTC)
I wondered if perhaps the downloading human mind tech in TBoSJ is the start of research that will lead to the neural relays in the 51st Century. Mewiet 03:14, April 1, 2013 (UTC)

Also I was just thinking of The End of Time, when The Doctor saves Luke Smith from getting hit by the car. Remember how Luke was talking on the phone to Clyde saying that Mr. Smith put out a cover story that Wi-Fi went mad. It's cool they actually did a story where wi-fi actually "goes mad". --Invictus152 22:57, April 13, 2013 (UTC)

Drink spilling Error[[edit source]]

Actually, I don't like having the unspilled drink as an "error". I've performed an ethnic dance called Binasuan, and it's quite possible, if somewhat unlikely, that she could have done all of those movements without necessarily spilling her drink.--ComicBookGoddess 20:11, April 1, 2013 (UTC)

I removed this text from the page. If you watch the scene, the cup is not being flung willy-nilly and magically not spilling. Clara is very carefully holding it so that it doesn't spill. It also by that point has very little left in it. When she takes a sip, she first looks down into the cup and has to tilt it all the way to get the remaining liquid out. Whose mother?[[edit source]]

When I first watched this episode, I thought that Clara stayed with the family because her mother died, but on the wiki it stated their mother, so I assumed I misheard. After watching The Rings, however, I am wondering if I did hear correctly, but it was recorded wrong on the wiki.

Which mother is that died? Clara's, or both? Geek Mythology 18:23, April 6, 2013 (UTC)

Ellie died and the Maitland kids' mother died. I think she said something about repaying the favor, so I wonder if their mom helped her after her mother died, but that's only speculation. Mewiet 18:55, April 6, 2013 (UTC)
Clara was portrayed as visibly younger when her mother died, so I'm certain for this case that they meant her friend that we saw in the Snowmen, Ms Maitland.--ComicBookGoddess 02:05, April 9, 2013 (UTC)

Who is Saint John[[edit source]]

is the bells of saint john possibly a reference to the Doctors alias of "John Smith" so the bells are "the bells of saint john (smith)? Roi Simcha 22:05, April 6, 2013 (UTC)

Saint John refers to the "St Johns Ambulance" sticker that is on front of the TARDIS, next to the phone that rings. Therefore the title is referencing "The (phone) Bells of Saint John('s Ambulance)"

Plus, I'm sure this is a topic for the forums, not the talk page? Geek Mythology 22:08, April 6, 2013 (UTC)

ah, I apologize. at some point I will figure this all out, until then I will move this and try to do better. Roi Simcha 22:10, April 6, 2013 (UTC)

No worries, everyone starts somewhere. Hope I at least answered your question. Geek Mythology 22:11, April 6, 2013 (UTC)

Try out the The Howling. We'll be glad to see you there!--ComicBookGoddess 02:06, April 9, 2013 (UTC)

Wi-fi symbols[[edit source]]

Anyone else notice that the wi-fi symbols seem to be in Aurebesh? It's the alphabet used in the Star Wars galaxy. Haven't tried desiphering any of it, but if anyone wants to here's this. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/File:Aurebesh-GMSR.png Flag-Waving American Patriot 02:11, April 24, 2013 (UTC)

Just had a look using your link, and checking the episode on iplayer. I'll admit they're similar, but it's not Aurebesh used in Bells. Geek Mythology 10:26, April 25, 2013 (UTC)

Cumbrian agenda?[[edit source]]

Where does this item in Story Notes come from? This is the only place I have ever seen anything of the sort suggested. Not in any reviews, criticisms of Moffat, anywhere. I'm going to delete it, but I'll put this note here in case someone can substantiate this item, which right now looks like a completely unsourced claim. 23skidoo 13:07, October 1, 2014 (UTC)

The police box at Earl's court[[edit source]]

There should be a reference to THE police box at Earl's court. I don't know how to add a reference so I will just post it here, please help if you can. It is on google maps and makes me smile every time I pass it :)
