Merging[[edit source]]

As I mentioned in the merge tag, I believe that this page should be merged with Floor 1056. The sole use of the term "Cyber-Foundries" is used by The Saxon Master in the context of a title, not a distinct location from Floor 1056:

"This used to be just a hospital, now it's mass production! The Cyber Foundries!" Thalek Prime Overseer 16:35, 21 February 2021 (UTC)

Er, unless I'm reading that quote wrong, this equates the Cyber Foundries with the Hospital — not with the whole of Floor 1056. And anyway, he's saying that "used to be" the Hospital and is "now" the Cyber Foundries, which implies the change is great enough that the two locations should be considered different concepts even if they occupy the same space at two different points in Time. Well... in the space of around three and a half years, I've somehow never made that connection with that quote. Sorry about that, I see what you mean. Although, I believe that, even if a page merge isn't necessary, then a rename tag should replace the current merge tag I put up, as, if we're interpreting the Master's quote as referring to a distinct location, and not a general term, then the page name should be "Cyber Foundries" and not "Cyber Foundry", as the latter term is never used or implied. Rename[[edit source]]

This is continuing a discussion that myself and User:Scrooge MacDuck have briefly had on our talk pages. I personally believe that this pages should be name Cyber Foundries, not The Cyber-Foundries. Scrooge MacDuck has explained to me that they renamed the page to The Cyber-Foundries because, to some people, the term Cyber-Foundries would appear to be plural, and therefore incorrect by this wiki's naming policies. By including the in the name, people would immediately recognise that the page is referring to a set location, not a "type" of location.

However, I personally argue that it would be better to simply name the page Cyber Foundries, because any potential confusion concerning the name Cyber-Foundries appearing plural could be immediately resolved by simply clicking on the page and reading about the topic, thereby informing the reader as to why the name appears plural, when in fact, it isn't. Beyond this, I also feel that including the word The in the page's name sticks out a bit too much - there are countless other pages that could include the word The at the beginning of their names, but don't (for example, Dalek Empire, Seal of Rassilon, Cyber-Mainframe, etc). Nor is the word The needed to register the term Cyber Foundries as belonging to a particular individual or group, such as The Auctioneers or The Master's TARDIS.

Also, I specifically propose the name Cyber Foundries (without a hyphen) and not Cyber-Foundries (with a hyphen), because Cyber Foundries is used in the subtitles for The Doctor Falls on BBC iPlayer. Although this minor difference may vary between other subtitles on, say, the Series 10 DVD boxset. Thalek Prime Overseer 10:53, 11 May 2021 (UTC)
