Censor Clips[[edit source]]

"Censor clips from episodes four and five have been restored for the DVD as part of the episodes themselves. These were first found in 1996 and therefore did not make it to the VHS release in 1990."

It's a little more nuanced than that. The censor clips were never actually missing. The prints of The Dominators donated to the BFI by the BBC are uncut. They were always available to the BBC via the donor access scheme.

The VHS was put together using the most available prints, which were a censored set held at the BBC itself. At this point in the release schedule, very little care was taken over the quality of the end product. These constant shoddy releases led to the founding of the restoration team, who then improved standards for the last titles of the VHS range.

After the Dominators VHS was released, the censor clips were discovered in Australia.

When the Dominators DVD was put together, the intact prints in the BFI were used. The censor clips themselves were not used.8.20.101.117talk to me 21:11, 16 April 2021 (UTC)
