Talk:The Fellowship of Quan (short story)
To be clear about my most recent edit, I would like to present this quote in full text.
The Doctor scrutinised the Sentinel. "That voice is masked by something, a voice synthesizer!" he said, and rushed forward, pulling the hood back. Peri sucked her breath in. The dark, brushed-back hair and the pointed beard were unmistakable, it was the Master!
I honestly don't know how there's any way to read this beyond "Peri recognized this Master because she had met him before." While I will not cast aspersions about the author of the page (even though we all know that he and I are mortal enemies and not at all very good friends), I think it is writing with a massive slant toward ensuring "No no I swear they're not the same incarnation!" If we're going to have the Merlin Master and the Tremas Master separate, I would like to insist that we're honest about what is on the page --because we all know that too many people will merely take this article at its word. This is a "Terrence Dicks used the same descriptor at the end of Timewyrm: Exodus as he did in the Third Doctor novelisations." or "RTD wrote the ending of Doctor Who and the Time War to be ambiguous!" Documentation like this prescribes ambiguity were there often is not. NoNotTheMemes ☎ 23:57, 16 January 2023 (UTC)
- I've just realised that it's very bad form to post this in two separate areas and could very easily lead to two parallel conversations. For the sake of sanity, please keep any conversation leading on from this over on Talk:The Master (The Creation of Camelot). Thank you! NoNotTheMemes ☎ 00:03, 17 January 2023 (UTC)
