Talk:The Specials (Blu-ray boxset)

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

Dab term[[edit source]]

Feel free to change the dab term. I didn't know what to use so I used the closest one I knew. --DCLM 22:00, July 3, 2019 (UTC)

Merge[[edit source]]

I honestly feel like the Specials are a different case to that of a season. Yes, season/series box sets don't get their own seperate pages, but these specials are a bit different as they don't technically belong to the preceeding Series 4. Feel free to say if you think otherwise. --DCLM 22:43, July 3, 2019 (UTC)

I was the user who has nominated for merge - so I'll repeat what I've said on Danniesen's talk page so anyone else can see my thoughts:
As far as this wiki is concerned, the 2009 specials are part of Series 4. They do not have a separate article of their own, and any relevant information pertaining to these specials is present as part of the Series 4 article.
Looking at both Category:DVD box sets and Category:Blu-ray box sets, pages only exist for anthology box sets, or box sets that span more than one season. Information about season box sets tend to be put in as a section on the "Home media" section of the relevant series article. Indeed, the Series 4 Steelbook is already mentioned there.
Taking the above into account, I can't see why this needs to have it's own article. The relevent information should be added to the Home media section of Series 4.     ǝsʞpɐןǝ  (talk page)  22:53, 3 July 2019
Just to note, I corrected the link on the merge tag to Series 4 (Doctor Who 2005) instead of the dab page Series 4. Shambala108 23:03, July 3, 2019 (UTC)
So, where do we stand with this page? Does it stay or should it be merged to "Series 4 (Doctor Who)"? --DCLM 21:15, December 16, 2019 (UTC)
I say it stays. By User:Eladkse's own reasoning, if to us the Specials are just part of Series 4, then logically, a DVD release that only contains them is an anthology box set of a few hand-picked episodes, rather than a season box set. Scrooge MacDuck 20:28, 27 April 2021 (UTC)
