Talk:The Stories of Doctor Who

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

Not a valid OOU reference source?[[edit source]]

I've searched Amazon and a few major bookstores like WH Smith and Waterstones and can't see this title anywhere (although admittedly it is a pretty generic title). It does exist, right? Also, if it's not published by BBC Books, why is the BBC logo on the front cover?

A quick Google search of the "publisher" Wattpad also seems to lead to a user created content site behind a log in screen, which seems to be roughly equivalent to a fansite or blogging site. And if this is the case, this violates T:OOU SRC. -- Tybort (talk page) 13:07, April 30, 2015 (UTC)

I've added a {{Proposed deletion}} tag. If the creator of the article or the other user who edited it would like to defend its inclusion on this wiki, please do so here. Failure to do so could result in the article's deletion if it can't be shown that it is a valid source. Shambala108 14:23, April 30, 2015 (UTC)
Hi, thanks for the bringing this up.
I think this book has been written on Wattpad, which is an app where amateur writers can publish eBooks for free public consumption. I don't know much about it but the writer seems to have done an official project, so isn't this valid. For example if say Andrew Cartmel wrote an unauthorised book and published it on Wattpad, that would can't right? The preceding unsigned comment was added by 86.151.32.193 (talk).
That's what we're trying to figure out. By this wiki's rules, there are certain things we don't cover, including fan-made material and material not licensed by the BBC. We need more information about this project so we can come to a decision. Shambala108 16:34, April 30, 2015 (UTC)
