Three Doctors?[[edit source]]

Something about this story is nagging me. Are there actually 3 different Doctors in this story? I mean obviously the Thirteenth Doctor has a in-mind conversation with her predecessor, the Twelfth Doctor. But at some point it's being said "you two". Is the Eleventh (or other prior incarnation) also in this story or is Thirteen yelling out loud to both her predecessor and her inner self? --DCLM 19:31, March 25, 2020 (UTC)

Where is this idea that Twelve appears coming from? That's not at all represented in the text. The Doctor is talking to herself, responding to herself, and then interjecting in response. Talking to herself is a known characteristic of this Doctor; here, Chibnall takes that trait to its logical conclusion. (There's even a line in here where the Doctor complains about herself sectioning off her mind like this.)

The consistent use of she/her pronouns in the story suggests it's all just the Thirteenth Doctor. A demonstrative example being "Fun fact about Fintleborxtug, she told herself, [...] You don’t have to tell me that, thought the Doctor tetchily to herself, I know!" Toqgers 02:52, March 26, 2020 (UTC)
The fact that in the story it reads "I'm only here about 5 minutes" suggest that this is the remains of her previous self's consciousness. Like in The Many Lives of Doctor Who in which Twelve also talks to her. I know Thirteen has a habit of talking to herself, but by this exact logic we can just as easily say that in that story it was Thirteen giving advice to herself. --DCLM 07:19, March 26, 2020 (UTC)
That's.. not what the Doctor says. "That's not a word, chided the Doctor. Alright, replied the Doctor, I'm only a few minutes in here - you're lucky I've got any words at all." She's saying that she's only been in this new form, this new mind, for a few minutes now, and that she shouldn't expect to be coherent at all. She's saying to herself, You should be grateful I can find any words to describe this in the first few minutes of this brand new mind exploding into existence. This is in line both with Thirteen's later characterisation, and with the many past instances of the Doctor making very little sense and forgetting how to navigate simple functions as they recover from regeneration and get used to things all over again.

Lockdown?[[edit source]]

Why is this story listed as part of Doctor Who: Lockdown!? There's no indication this was something Emily Cook arranged. The same applies to Incoming Transmission, and potentially Doctor Who and the Time War, the one fringe case – RTD mentions being asked both by Cook and by Chibnall to draw something up, and it seems he made good on both requests with separate stories.
