Talk:Time Lord-Vampire War

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

Article title[[edit source]]

According to the transmission Sam receives in Interference, the war began "back before the Time Lords were Time Lords". Of course, that transmission is effectively a "period drama" recreation of the actual events, and we know that at least some of it is inaccurate. And in State of Decay, the Record of Rassilon clearly says that the Vampires were destroyed by "the Lords of Time". But that's propaganda too, isn't it? It's the account of the war given by Rassilon or his followers, to be installed in (some) TARDISes. And the transmission is in part coming from the Time Lord artefact that is Anathema, so in-universe it seems just as likely as not that the war did begin "before the Time Lords were Time Lords". (Perhaps the penultimate vampire wasn't destroyed until after Omega blew up Qqaba and fell into the antimatter universe. But that's my speculation.)

Anyway, if much of the war was fought before the Time Lords were Time Lords, is this the best name for the article? Would Gallifreyan–Vampire War be more accurate? Or could we just call it the Vampire War? There aren't any other vampire wars that this would be confused with, are there? —Josiah Rowe talk to me 04:40, July 4, 2012 (UTC)

Merger with "Eternal War"[[edit source]]

As Josiah Rowe points out above, this is already a terrible article title, and it's redundant with Eternal War. A relevant discussion over the merger of Great Vampire and Yssgaroth can be found here. NateBumber 17:16, January 13, 2017 (UTC)
