Talk:UNIT HQ
Buildings in London[[edit source]]
Okay, so here's a question for the classic era experts. There seem to be at least two UNIT offices in London in the late 1960s:
The UNIT page says: At the start of the Doctor's exile, the British branch of UNIT operated out of an office building in London, (TV: Spearhead from Space) near Whitehall. (AUDIO: Shadow of the Past)
Whereas the UNIT HQ page says: UNIT had a London street address, located in an anonymous-looking building near the high street in Ealing Broadway. James Stevens visited this location in his attempt to track down and get an interview with the Brigadier. (PROSE: Who Killed Kennedy) During the Auton incident, UNIT HQ was in a building in London. This HQ included offices, a science lab and a parking garage. (TV: Spearhead from Space)
That text could be clearer. The office building near Whitehall is not the one in Ealing. (These places are about twelve kilometers apart as the crow flies. However, it's a straight shot on the District line if moving by Tube, with no transfers required; UNIT personnel would use the Ealing Broadway station at one end and Embankment at the other.) Putting the UNIT offices near other government offices sounds plausible so I'm inclined to believe the Whitehall location. Has it ever been said what they're doing out in Ealing? HQs that aren't HQs[[edit source]]
Are "Articulated truck" and "black site" really headquarters? Presumably both are merely staging sites that answer to an unseen, permanent headquarters? In fact, a black site is something else entirely. Forgottrek ☎ 06:15, 19 June 2024 (UTC)
