- The title is a spoof of The Sarah Jane Adventures television story Whatever Happened to Sarah Jane?. This is the first time that an Iris Wildthyme audio drama makes reference to a spin-off of the new series.
I haven't seen that episode of SJA, so maybe I'm missing something. But I don't think that's meant to be a reference. The "Whatever Happened to [something or someone]?" format is very common, and not specific to that SJA episode. This wiki even has Whatever Happened to Susan Foreman? on it. Also, even if it is based on that specific title, who says that's A) counts as a reference, B) is the first time it's happened, C) is remotely worth commenting on?
