Talk:Zygon: When Being You Just Isn't Enough (home video)

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

Alternate cover[[edit source]]

I added the DVD cover. I hope this is acceptable on this wiki. Cult Of Skaro Here.|Communicate here. 17:49, February 27, 2013 (UTC)

Is this really part of DWU?[[edit source]]

Maybe I'm not familiar enough with "Zygons" but I don't see anything here about The Doctor or Companions or Torchwood. What does it have to do with the Doctor Who Universe or the production teams that work on the different series? 64.134.71.199talk to me 22:08, May 10, 2013 (UTC)

You are on a wiki. It should not take long to look up what a Zygon is. Cult Of Skaro Here.|Communicate here. 22:14, May 10, 2013 (UTC)

I took a quick look through the forum archives and couldn't find anything on the subject. I'll take a more thorough look after the weekend is over, unless someone else finds the answer before then. Shambala108 22:54, May 10, 2013 (UTC)

I meant, there was nothing on this Wiki entry about Doctor Who. If Zygons are part of the DWU, you'd think there'd be a mention on this page to that television show or one of the others. Just reading this Page, there doesn't appear to be a connection. If there is, it should be written into the Page. Badwolff 21:31, May 15, 2013 (UTC)

The connection is obvious. Zygons are an alien from Doctor Who. It isn't stated because that's implied. Cult Of Skaro Here.|Communicate here. 21:34, May 15, 2013 (UTC)

This is a quote from a footnote on the BBV Productions page concerning why their stuff is/isn't covered on this wiki:

  • " Because of the fact that BBV released both unlicensed and semi-licensed works, our community had to examine each release on a case-by-case basis. Basically the rule of thumb for fictional video releases is this: did BBV obtain a license from either the BBC or a writer who owned rights to a character in order to make the video. If they did, then we assert that the video is a DWU narrative, and we therefore cover it. On the other hand, if BBV simply made up new characters and cast them with Doctor Who actors, then the video is not a part of the DWU and we don't cover it."

As for mentions of the show Doctor Who, that doesn't have to happen for a story to be covered here, as long as it satisfies the four rules the wiki has established. There are probably lots of stories that don't mention the Doctor or the show that count as part of the Doctor Who universe.

And, as Cult of Skaro said in his post above, the Zygons originally appeared in the Fourth Doctor story Terror of the Zygons.

I hope these comments have answered your questions. Shambala108 03:59, May 16, 2013 (UTC)
