Page protection

Should this page be locked? Most of the "Tardis" namespace pages are, but this one is completely editable. -- Metz77 ☎ 05:15, 10 July 2023 (UTC)

In my opinion having the pages unlocked makes moving links and correcting typos much easier; otherwise, you have to contact an admin and they might be able to do it if they have time... all when you could've done the edit in half the time it took to write the message to the admin.

Sure, but this is a page outlining an official site policy and specifically providing guidelines for admin behavior. Not the sort of page you want open for vandalism. At the very least I would think it should be protected so unregistered users can't edit. -- Metz77 ☎ 07:54, 13 July 2023 (UTC)

Sure sure, but even if it was vandalised, it'd take three seconds to revert.

I just don't like policy pages being fully protected as, for another example, I've seen loads that still refer to Fandom as Wikia but I can't get in to change it.

My mindset here is that I will protect the page if it is vandalised but, until that point, I'm happy to leave it unprotected. I'm watching the page, so I will catch any vandalism. Bongo50 ☎ 17:16, 13 July 2023 (UTC)
