Tardis talk:Manual of style
Spacing and formatting[[edit source]]
I've started a section on this topic, having just had to remove a bunch of extra spaces from one article and a bunch of HTML coding from another. Feel free to add to it. 23skidoo 15:25, October 21, 2009 (UTC)
Rebuttals and corrections[[edit source]]
I'd like to suggest we set out some rules as to when and where thing such as rebuttals and stated corrections should be noted. On a number of occasions I've seen rebuttals given to statements in "behind the scenes" and "trivia" sections, when correctly they should only be used in the Discontinuity/Errors sections. And I've seen people make edits like "This is wrong, because so and so said such and such" instead of simply correcting the mistake. Thoughts? 23skidoo 17:21, December 6, 2009 (UTC)
Heading capitalisation[[edit source]]
This article's page title should properly be capitalized (Manual of Style), as "Manual of Style" is both a description and a proper name for a specific document (hence the correct capitalisation in "so this Manual of Style is here to set things straight"; see also the page capitalisation at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style). However, since this isn't just an everyday header but the title of a rather important page, I'd rather one of the admins made that change than try it myself. (For what it's worth, I don't like the decision to use sentence case for headers instead of title case, but I accept that it's standard Wikipedia style and there must have been good reasons for that choice. However, I note that the TARDIS wiki specifies sentence case in its MoS but is inconsistent in applying that style throughout the wiki.)--Bedawyn 22:18, December 24, 2009 (UTC)
- Just noting: There is a Tardis:Manual_of_Style page, but it redirects to this one.--Bedawyn 00:46, December 25, 2009 (UTC)
- Just noticed the move -- thanks, Tangerineduel! Would it be possible and kosher to merge this talk page with the other MoS talk page, to keep all the relevant discussion together?--Bedawyn 04:58, December 26, 2009 (UTC)
