Template:Welcome staff/doc

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

{{Welcome staff/doc}} is a template that specifically welcomes Wikia staff. It points staff members in the direction of several things that will be uniquely of interest to them.

It is completely automatic and is not for use by humans. The only user who can use it properly is User:Wikia. Please do not attempt to put it manually onto a page yourself.

Usage

None; automatic.

Output

The following example gives an approximation of the template, but is not exactly rendered because, again, only User:Wikia can use it properly.

Thanks for your hard work behind the scenes!

Howdy, $4! Thanks for all your hard work helping to create the Wikia environment we all enjoy. We'd like to think that you've dropped by to edit with us for a bit, like you did at $1. You're certainly welcome to do so! Check out our master list of help and policy files, our spelling policy or our Manual of Style to see how we might differ from other Wikia wikis.

Of course, the reality is that you're probably just here to check how a new feature is working, investigate a bug or make some general announcement. All TOU violations — and we really hope we aren't making any! — should be directed at CzechOut and/or Tangerineduel. If you don't have time for that, just make the change yourself in the relevant .css or .js file, and please clearly annotate it as a TOU violation.

If you're here to make an announcement of new features, we strongly recommend that you don't use user blogs. Messages there tend to get overlooked. A better location for staff notices is at Board:The Panopticon. Just make sure to put your post in the additional category of category:tech notes. We have changed the color of most known staff member's names to a sort of barley-gold, so i should be really obvious that you've left us a message.

If you're looking to make quick contact with an admin, you may want to stop by the chatroom, because admin are often there. We tend to idle a bit as we edit elsewhere, so just slip a note like, "Hey, you! Get back in chat!" onto the relevant admin's talk page, and we'll probably wake up!

Thanks again for stopping by! — $3

p.s. If you're getting this message quite a long time after your first edit, well, we're sorry. We've only initialised automated staff greetings on 22:01, September 20, 2011 (UTC).
