Counterparts[[edit source]]

I think there's a couple of areas surrounding the use of this template which may require further discussion - namely aliases and fictional characters.

If a character has an alias with a separate page - e.g. Sofia Afzal or Logan Jackson, only the main individual (e.g. Yasmin Khan or Ryan Sinclair) should be included in the counterparts template. These aliases should simply be placed in the alias/aka section of the main infobox.

Fictional characters are a slightly more difficult topic. The way I see it is that fictional versions of physical individuals (such as the Doctor (fictional character)) should not be included in this template. To me, fictional versions of physical characters are depictions, rather than alternate/parallel versions, of these individuals - similar to how Portrait of Dr. Gachet is a depiction of Gachet. However, if there was an alternate universe where the Doctor only existed as a fictional character, then I would include this in the template; no physical version of the Doctor exists in this universe, so the fictional version is the closest thing we have.

Let me know if that makes sense and if you agree? 66 Seconds 09:33, 30 June 2022 (UTC)
