Template talk:Rose Tyler counterparts

Rose (Rise of the Cybermen)[[edit source]]

In relation to Rose (Rise of the Cybermen) being part of this template, User:OncomingStorm12th has stated the following:

Sure, she's the "Rose" related to "Pete" and "Jackie" from that universe, but saying this dog is Rose Tyler's counterpart in the same sense that Peter Tyler (Pete's World) is Peter Tyler's is..... well not *really* true or fair is it?

However, I would argue that Rose the dog is a parallel counterpart of Rose Tyler. A parallel counterpart suggests an individual/location/organisation which exists in the same, or similar space, as an individual/location/organisation from a different, or parallel, universe. Irrespective of species, sex, gender, life-span, or intelligence, Rose the dog is the closest thing in Pete's World to the Rose Tyler of the Doctor's World. Even the Doctor's laugh upon realising the dog is called Rose, suggests he finds it funny that this is the Pete's World version of Rose Tyler. It may not be "fair" on Rose Tyler, but I would argue that it is true. Also note that Jackie Reeve in The Endless Night has a cat called Rose. Are we to state that because this is a cat, this can't be Rose Tyler's parallel counterpart. Would this be a counterpart of Rose the dog? Are we to state that because Rob Tyler is a different sex, he can't be Rose Tyler's counterpart? In The Glorious Dead, we have Tardis Tails - a parallel version of the Eighth Doctor who is a cat; is this not his parallel counterpart? 66 Seconds 09:51, 13 August 2021 (UTC)
