The Hill

The Hill was an American nuclear weapons research facility in Los Alamos, New Mexico. It was part of the Manhattan Project.
The Hill was located atop the Parajito Plateau, near the Jemez Mountains and the Sangre de Cristo. Robert Oppenheimer picked the area because he had convalesced there when he was young. The facility was in the former Los Alamos Ranch School, which had been founded by Ashley Pond. The Fuller Lodge, which used to be the school's main building, was converted into a hotel and dining room. Oppenheimer's house was on a road locally referred to as Bathtub Row.
