The Man (comic)
The Man was a comics series created by Bill Anglowitz in the 1950s. (PROSE: The Enemy of My Enemy Is My Enemy) It was centred on the adventures of a superhero named "the Man". (PROSE: Mightier Than the Sword)
In 1982, Atom Comics purchased the rights to publish new The Man stories, and Jim Sheldrake reinvented the series to significant critical acclaim. After Sheldrake left Atom in 1984, ending the series on a cliffhanger, Atom CEO Del Rictus asked Gideon Barrow to become the new head writer. Barrow sent a letter to Sheldrake, asking for his blessing as a polite formality, but after the explicit and hostile response, he declined the job offer. (PROSE: The Enemy of My Enemy Is My Enemy)
In 1988, Atom Comics published The Man Vol 2, #22. (PROSE: Mightier Than the Sword)
