"The Old Rugged Cross" was a hymn that the New Earth inhabitants stuck in the Motorway sang together on the day the Tenth Doctor and Martha Jones arrived.
Its lyrics included:
On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross
The emblem of suffering and shame

For a world of lost sinners was slain
