From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

Taking the form of servant, Bilis Manger, the Rift gained consciousness.

Biography[[edit] | [edit source]]

Pre-consciousness[[edit] | [edit source]]

In the 1860s, the Cardiff Space-Time Rift tore through Bilis Manger's hotel, claiming him as its servant.

In 2004, Bilis built The Clockhouse Hotel in its place, intending it as a prison for the Rift. Bilis designed it to entice the Torchwood team, in particular Jack Harkness to investigate. (COMIC: Broken)

Gaining sentience[[edit] | [edit source]]

The Rift taking the form of Bilis Manger.(PROSE: Brokon)

Finding that his plan had backfired, and that Bilis himself was a prisoner of the Rift, the Rift took the form of his body, to escape The Clockhouse Hotel, and cause chaos around Cardiff.

After its physical form was briefly destroyed by Jack Harkness and Ianto Jones, the Rift attempted to take control over Jack's immortal body. With Jack's never-ending life energy and Bilis's time-sensitive nature, it intended to consume the whole planet.

Its essence was expelled and destroyed when Caron Pearce sacrificed herself to be with her mother and brother.

With its destruction, The Clockhouse Hotel vanished too, and Bilis was given freedom from his servitude. (COMIC: Broken)
