The Watchman was an inventor, watchmaker and self-styled doctor who worked for Lord Ernhardt in Klimtenburg during the 19th century. After the death of Lady Ernhardt, the Watcher created a robot copy — following the instructions of the Oracle, a cybernetic head scavenged from a crashed Cyber-ship.
He attempted to help the couple's son, Victor Ernhardt, when he had fallen ill, until the Eleventh Doctor discovered his workshop and the buried cyber-ship. The Watchman was killed by Lord Ernhardt's replacement cybernetic hand, which was controlled by the Cybermen. (PROSE: Plague of the Cybermen)
