- The alternate universe in which the Doctor plucks out of his own hearts is transparently intended to that of the EDA novels. However, it was Sabbath who plucked out the Doctor's heart, not the Doctor himself. Besides, the audios directly reference the events of the EDAs more than once, so how can they be different universes?
- Simply that they aren't and that not all of the timelines shown to Eight in Zagreus are actually alternative. He cannot remember them all and thus believes they are because of his frequent amnesia and presumably whatever events got the Matrix out of his head and back into reality after the Gallifrey Chronicles.
