Theory:Doctor Who television discontinuity and plot holes/The Power of the Doctor

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference
You are exploring the Discontinuity Index, a place where any details or rumours about unreleased stories are forbidden.
Please discuss only those whole stories which have already been released, and obey our spoiler policy.

This page is for discussing the ways in which The Power of the Doctor doesn't fit well with other DWU narratives. You can also talk about the plot holes that render its own, internal narrative confusing.

Remember, this is a forum, so civil discussion is encouraged. However, please do not sign your posts. Also, keep all posts about the same continuity error under the same bullet point. You can add a new point by typing:

* This is point one.
::This is a counter-argument to point one.
:::This is a counter-argument to the counter-argument above
* This is point two.
::Explanation of point two.
::Further discussion and query of point two.

... and so on.
  • How did Vinder end up on the Metal Planet in 1916, when his previous appearances were all in 2021 and there was never a hint he could time travel?
He travelled through the wormhole as part of a mission to search for the missing Qurunx from the bullet train.
  • The Thirteenth Doctor's final words are "Tag, you're it." However, in the game of tag there are no tag-backs.
1) 13 didn't know it was going to be a 'tag back' so her saying it is fine. 2) Tag back only applies to the immediate predecessor, Tennant was 3 before Jodie.
As a playground game played predominantly by children, tag doesn't have any set rules. Perhaps the variant that the Doctor grew up with on Gallifrey does not forbid tag-backs.
  • Yaz doubted her Doctor. She was wrong. The Dalek Traitor zero set her up. He was set up by the Dalek Commander. How'd you think Yaz react to finding out she was wrong about it? Perhaps a reaction simialr to the 6th Doctor realising he was wrong about Lytton. ANd how'd you think she react to finding out ehr doubt betrayed the Doctor, as Tegan did by running away?
