Time Lord (Unbound Universe)
The Time Lords were the species that the Doctor of the Unbound Universe belonged to. They were the rulers of that universe until being wiped out in the Great War.
History[[edit] | [edit source]]
The Unbound Doctor recalled how a great ruler on one planet decreed that "no-one need ever truly die", giving his people the ability to "renew their bodies and their minds", and if they grew tired of life their "spirits" could "wander in the Garden of Souls". The people of this planet became the rulers of time and space and were known and feared by all the races in the universe. (AUDIO: The Library in the Body)
The Doctor became a renegade and left their home planet, travelling across time and space. The Time Lords eventually put him on trial and sentenced him to exile on Earth. His TARDIS took him to 1997 Hong Kong and was fitted with an inhibitor so it could only move in space, however the Doctor managed to bypass this and resume his travels with Alistair Lethbridge-Stewart. (AUDIO: Sympathy for the Devil)
During the Great War, the Doctor tried to help his people but found they wouldn’t listen to his advice. (AUDIO: Asking for a Friend) After the War, the Doctor was seemingly the only survivor of his people, so was left as the Ruler of the Universe. (AUDIO: The Library in the Body) The Unbound Master later emerged as another survivor. (AUDIO: The Emporium at the End)
Worn out from the stress of organising the safe zone as Ruler of the Universe, the Doctor visited the ruins of their home world, angrily proclaiming that "I told you so!". (AUDIO: Asking for a Friend) After travelling to N-Space with Bernice Summerfield, he encountered the Time Lords of that universe. (AUDIO: Gallifrey)
Through the lone survivor of the Master, the Time Lords eventually became the last species in their universe before the Master was rescued from their reality by the Dalek Time Strategist. (AUDIO: Shockwave)
