Whilst on Gallifrey, Terry received a call from Susan Foreman after the First Doctor had left her behind in the aftermath of the 2164 Dalek invasion of Earth and told her that he would pick her up the next time he was inspecting that part of the time waft. He did so and returned Susan to London in the 20th century; as Terry was obliged to obey real time, Susan arrived in July 1964 since she had been traveling in the TARDIS for eight months since her disappearance in November 1963.
