Titanoboa
Titanoboa was the largest snake ever to have lived on Earth, measuring up to 15 metres in length and 1 metre thick. Native to the Palaeocene era, Titanoboa stayed in tropical areas with temperatures below 30 degrees Celsius making it uncomfortable. If trapped in a colder location, Titanoboa would immediately seek out some source of heat. The massive snake attacked by wrapping itself around its prey and crushing it to death. Titanoboa was comfortable in warm water and protocrocodiles were one of its favourite meals, though it would happily devour a human whole as a snack. Titanoboa was surprisingly stealthy for its size, lurking patiently in wait until something edible happened along.
