According to the Monk, the Archons of Time were a Type IV civilisation, meaning they would be more than able to alter their star system from a primary to binary system if they wanted to. (PROSE: The Bloodletters)

The Kardashev scale is a theoretical method of measuring a civilization's level of technological advancement based on the amount of energy it is able to use. Its classic form includes only four Types, with a Type III civilisation being able to control power equivalent to an entire galaxy; later theorists have proposed that a Type IV civilisation would be one able to control the entire universe.
