One account indicated UNIT had a facility at the Tower as early as the 1970s. At one point a captured Ogron was brought there, coinciding with the Eighth Doctor and Andy Davidson visiting the base in search of TARDIS components left by the Doctor's exiled younger self. (AUDIO: UNIT Dating)

During the Sycorax's attack of Earth, Blake was the leader of this base. From the base, Prime Minister Harriet Jones directed the responses of UNIT and Torchwood to the Sycorax invasion of Earth.
