Under Control (short story)

Under Control was the second short story and third release exclusively in Doctor Who The Official Annual 2024 on 7 September 2023 by Penguin Group[1] and written by Steve Cole. The short story was later reprinted in Ten Days of Christmas on 12 October 2023.[2]
It formed the first part of a story which, in both publications, would continue into a later story titled Into Control, which was presented as a comic strip in the annual, and as another short story in the anthology.

- The Doctor briefly wonders if the Boneless from Flatline [+]Loading...["Flatline (TV story)"] are onboard the ship when he compares the systems to the humanoid nervous system pinned down in two dimensions.
- Under Control saw the Fourteenth Doctor using a sonic screwdriver, which, when used, has a "bright blue buzz", aligning with Super Sonic [+]Loading...["Super Sonic (feature)"] detailing the hardware of the new screwdriver, and subtly referencing the destruction of the Thirteenth Doctor's sonic screwdriver in Liberation of the Daleks [+]Loading...["Liberation of the Daleks (comic story)"].
