Unteroffizier (Just War)

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

An Unteroffizier of Nazi Germany was present alongside Generalmajor Oskar Steinmann for the first test of the V1 flying bomb at Peenemünde on 24 December 1942, when he was 17 years old.

The Unteroffizier was impressed by the sight of the weapon and believed it would strike fear into the Allies, defeat the United Kingdom and help Germany win World War II. Steinmann, however, was not so optimistic, as he had read about the outcome of the war from Bernice Summerfield's diary and noticed all recorded events falling into place. When Steinmann pointed out the weapon's shortcomings and claimed it was merely psychological, the Unteroffizier accused him of defeatism and called him a traitor, leaving in disgust when Steinmann did not deny the accusations.
