The Unzal were a scientifically advanced race which wanted to invade the Earth. They were aware of the Third Doctor being an exiled Time Lord and knew that he could be a threat to their plans. The Doctor knew of them and how they did not have the means to be a militaristic power. (AUDIO: The Unzal Incursion)
