From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

About Jesster2[[edit] | [edit source]]

I first discovered Doctor Who on Twin Cities Public Television, when it was still shown episodically, sometime around 1981. For that reason Tom Baker will always hold a special place in my heart, but I have grown to appreciate most (if not all) of the Classic Doctors.

At some point I decided I was geeky enough to implement a ratings system for every Classic DW story. The results still exist as a text file on my computer, and I actually still update them now and again, when I see a story again after a long time and discover it wasn't as good/bad as I thought the last time. I do not do this for the new series, which I like very much but do not have quite as much invested in, since, well, I'm not a kid, so I'm busy. I have never written any text about my feelings regarding why a particular DW story deserves this rating or that; I know I certainly could, but probably never will, for the above reason. But, I will include below a list of the stories that are my all-time favorites and that I believe are the crème de la crème of the Classic Series.

When I first discovered the DW Wiki, I was terribly excited, and terribly annoyed at things I thought needed immediate correcting. So I joined, and began work. I have blogged just a little, you can find that link easily enough.

I am either a philistine or a reactionary in some ways about certain elements of DW. I could care less about anything DW that isn't the TV show. Original novels? Whatever. Audios? I'll listen to The Power of the Daleks audio several times a year, but I am not so interested in Big Finish. My friend did share some with me and The One Doctor has always made me laugh hysterically and greatly improved my opinion of Colin Baker and Bonnie Langford. But meh otherwise.

I could care less about the idea of a single thread of continuity that allows for the creation of a DW "timeline" and resolves all conflicts. What a waste of mental effort. It's a TV show. I may have gone to sci-fi conventions dressed in a coat and scarf with question-marks taped to my collar, but these days I have other things to worry about than how much Genesis of the Daleks conflicts with The Daleks. However, when I discover the Plot description on The Daleks' Master Plan page contains references to Bret Vyon returning after episode four chased by a Roman soldier (I'm not making that up), you better believe I'm gonna have a problem with that.

I guess all I do, I do with love, because I care.
