Because the new forum code automatically supplies a datestamp, your avatar, and links to your user and user talk pages, we have changed our policy on the use of signatures.
- Signatures, as accomplished by a user typing a series of tildes ~~~~, are now forbidden in forum threads. However, they remain compulsory in any namespace which includes the word "talk", like User talk, Template talk, and simple Talk.
