Tales from the Tardis/Help us with videos!
As most long-term users are aware, we're a little bit different here at Tardis when it comes to videos. We only let admin post videos. Why? Well, we've found over the years that many users get all excited with the video tool and they start uploading copyright-offending videos. Since this wiki couldn't exist without the goodwill and largesse of the British Broadcasting Corporation, we don't want to offend them by publishing, yanno, part 2 of Genesis of the Daleks from a dodgy YouTube source.
That's why we've got such a strict video policy, and why we only take either videos that are Wikia-licensed or those released by the official channels of copyright holders.
But now you can help us! If you go to T:VREC — that is, Tardis:Video recommendations — you'll find a little tool there to help you recommend videos for admin to upload. Just make sure that:
- it's a YouTube video
- it comes from an official BBC/BigFinish/AudioGO account
- we don't already have the video you're recommending (check Special:Videos for our complete library), or enter File:Whatever the YouTube name of the clip is into our search engine. We never change the YouTube name, so the search bar is a great way to do an existence check.
