But the criteria that were laid down by Grace were that the food should have either made people fall in love — that is, food which was magicked or technologically enhanced so as to induce love — or it should have indicated or furthered a romantic connection.
So unless Do You Love Anyone Enough actually states or implies that Four and Romana were in a romantic relationship, or about to embark upon one after eating the Rolo, then it might not be appropriate for this contest.
I know that the Rolo was given in an explicitly Valentine's Day context, but Grace seemed to be looking for food that actually caused or furthered romance. In the same way that you can give a gift at Christmas without being Christian, you can give a Rolo at Valentine's Day without being in love.
It, in a sense, doesn't matter, because Grace posted the new poll today, and only Hypervodka made it through — but was your reading of the story that there was an actual romance between Four and Romana?
