The Panopticon/There has got to be a better way to handle character biographies?

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

Let’s be honest; the character biographies for Doctors, companions, and other reoccurring characters are a complete mess.

Each Doctor/companion/etc. have appeared in a practically endless quantity of stories across different mediums, and it’s impossible to settle on a timeline for them. Our “timey-wimey” theory pages are, much like time itself, forever in flux, and forever will be, with many of them being inconsistent with each other. Honestly, I think these sorts of things should be kept exclusively to the theory pages, to keep the actual biography pages from being so ill-organised.

“But we still need to document everything” I hear you say, and I agree. I just believe we should try to come up with a way to do so that doesn’t involve so much guess work with the continuity of stories.

How do we do that? Well, everyone is free to contribute ideas. One idea I have is to split the biographies into sections that cover “eras” of a character’s life. Within each section would be further sections that cover stories by medium.
