From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference
Welcome to the Tardis:About CharlieCon

Thanks for your edits! We hope you'll keep on editing with us. This is a great time to have joined us, because now you can play the Game of Rassilon with us and win cool stuff! Well, okay, badges. That have no monetary value. And that largely only you can see. But still: they're cool!

We've got a couple of important quirks for a Wikia wiki, so let's get them out of the way first.
British English, please
We generally use British English round these parts, so if you're American, please be sure you set your spell checker to BrEng, and take a gander at our spelling cheat card.
Spoilers aren't cool
We have a strict definition of "spoiler" that you may find a bit unusual. Basically, a spoiler, to us, is anything that comes from a story which has not been released yet. So, even if you've got some info from a BBC press release or official trailer, it basically can't be referenced here. In other words, you gotta wait until the episode has finished its premiere broadcast to start editing about its contents. Please check the spoiler policy for more details.
Other useful stuff
Aside from those two things, we also have some pages that you should probably read when you get a chance, like:

If you're brand new to wiki editing — and we all were, once! —  you probably want to check out these tutorials at Wikipedia, the world's largest wiki:

Remember that you should always sign your comments on talk and vote pages using four tildes like this:

Doctor Who short stories[[edit source]]

Woah woah woah. What's with removing Category:Doctor Who short stories from so many pages? Firstly I would like to know your reasons, but also, even if they were good reasons, you are not allowed to do this without community discussion. Please desist at once and explain yourself. Scrooge MacDuck 22:55, 11 January 2021 (UTC)

Sorry for replying so late. Is the community discussion the talk pages or the 'discuss' tab? My reasons for removing the tag from pages is that most short stories on this wiki are Doctor Who short stories, and if the purpose of the category was to house all of them, there is no category for stories based on spin offs. Also, some publications were listed there, which in my opinion should have been listed in 'Short stories by publication'. However, I'm probably completely wrong and can move them all back. Some short stories (mostly stories from the Brilliant Books and The Doctor: His Lives and Times) were in there, but only some from the anthologies and not others, which again I couldn't see a reason for, and decided that the best thing to do was remove them. Again, if if my reasons are completely wrong, please tell me why and thank you for pointing out my mistakes. CharlieCon 14:30, 12 January 2021 (UTC)
Ah, thank you for the explanation!
Actually, the normal medium for a community discussion about a subject involving several pages would be the Forum: namespace, but it's undergoing technical repairs at the moment. Otherwise it's talk pages — and in this case, we'll have to make do with Category_talk:Doctor Who short stories.
It's not really true that "most short stories on this wiki are Doctor Who short stories" — a Torchwood short story or Faction Paradox short story orIris Wildthyme short story isn't a "Doctor Who short stories", and per T:NPOV we should give all these series equal treatment, even if some of them "happen" to have more content than others.
Where you do have an argument is that if an anthology is in itself part of the Doctor Who series (i.e. has the logo on the cover/spine), we should probably put the anthology-title-short-stories category inside Doctor Who short stories, rather than "duplicate". But again, this would have to be coupled with putting the anthology-based categories in Category:Doctor Who short stories. Scrooge MacDuck 14:40, 12 January 2021 (UTC)
Thank you for the explanation, but do you want me to move the pages back? CharlieCon 18:03, 12 January 2021 (UTC)
Yes please! If it's at all possible for you. Scrooge MacDuck 18:08, 12 January 2021 (UTC)

Spoilers[[edit source]]

Hi, please read Tardis:Spoiler policy. Unfortunately I don't have time to revert your edits right now but unreleased stories can't be mentioned on pages not tagged with {{spoiler}}. Thanks, Borisashton 16:28, 13 February 2021 (UTC)

Apologies, I'll revert them. CharlieCon 09:09, 14 February 2021 (UTC)
