Regarding page justificationedit source

Hi. I saw your message on Tangerineduel;s page, and as the tech admin, I thought I'd respond for him. As you suggest, we could indeed compel justification. Thing is though, we're really not going to. There's a command in Special:Preferences to allow you to choose to justify paragraphs. It works in the monobook skin, but doesn't in the new wikia skin. Nevertheless its presence suggests that it's a feature Wikia wants to be able to give to users on an individual level. Thus, we're not going to compel justification. It's up to Wikia to get the justification working properly. If you personally want to have justification of all paragraphs now, you could alter your own CSS file so that, to you and you alone, the paragraphs were justified. You'd only have to create Special:MyPage/common.css and enter the following code:

.WikiaArticle p {text-align:justify}

Can't guarantee that would render pages perfectly every single time, because some of our pages have occasional paragraph-level formatting, but it would generally be a reasonable attempt at full paragraph justification.

My preferences are set to JUSTIFY but it doesn't work. -- Deb1701

Category descriptionsedit source

Hi, I'm not sure what adding "List of articles" does for the categories, not having anything on the page would seem to do a better job of suggest its meaning than adding the rather meaningless/self evident "List of articles", which it isn't, not in the way this wiki deals with lists, see Category:Lists for all the articles which are lists of things. Thanks. --Tangerineduel / talk 14:03, June 11, 2011 (UTC)

EDIT: And also please check prior to creating categories, such as "Time Lord episodes" which was deleted in favour of Category:Time Lord stories and if creating categories be sure to make sure they themselves are categorised. Thanks. --Tangerineduel / talk 14:12, June 11, 2011 (UTC)
I only created the categories that were on the WANTED CATEGORIES page. If the category is not used, it should be removed the articles it appears on. I was also under the impression that you had to type something in the description. -- User:Deb1701
Some of the categories are on year-based articles because of how templates function, they're not created as such until we've got 3 articles to go in the categories, until then the pages continue to function.
The Wanted Categories, like everything that starts with Special is a functionality the Wiki provides and needs to be taken as such as do all pages under the "Maintenance reports" heading on the Special:SpecialPages page. It's a useful indicator of how the wiki is functioning and also useful for gauging what needs to be done, as long as it's viewed in relation to how the rest of the wiki is functioning.
When creating a category it is far, far more preferable for it to be categorised correctly rather than to write something on the category's page (I'm not sure what you mean by "in the description"), as if you create a category without categorising it it's just adding further work for other editors who have to go through and work out why it was created and how it should be categorised. --Tangerineduel / talk 16:19, June 11, 2011 (UTC)

Stubsedit source

All the stubs used on this wiki have been engineered (by User:CzechOut) to sit on the side of the page so that we have a uniform look to the whole wiki. Please do not alter stub or other template pages without knowledge of the whole look of this wiki. Thanks. --Tangerineduel / talk 15:15, June 11, 2011 (UTC)

Last of the Time Lordsedit source

I am looking for the BBC "Last of the Time Lords commentary w/ David, John, and Freema" does anyone know where I can find it. Google says it is on the BBC America site, but I can't find it. Thanks. --Deb1701

Never mind. I finally found one.

Signature template - deletionedit source

Hi, I've deleted your signature template as it infringes on the Template namespace, which is used for templates relating to the running of this wiki.

If you want to use a template for your signature creature a sub-page of your user page as a template page and use that as your signature. Thanks. --Tangerineduel / talk 14:38, July 8, 2011 (UTC)

Deletionedit source

If you want to delete something, mark it with the template, like so: make sure you give your reasoning like this. Hope that helped.--Skittles the hog - talk 19:57, July 24, 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for participating in various discussions around the wiki. However, you must comply with our signature policy. Your signature must clearly identify you, and it must contain a link to this user talk page and have a time stamp. You may also wish to consult help:signature if you're uncertain how to build a compliant signature. Thanks :)

Christmas cheeredit source

Happy holidays!

As this fiftieth anniversary year comes to a close, we here at Tardis just want to thank you for being a part of our community — even if you haven't edited here in a while. If you have edited with us this year, then thanks for all your hard work.

This year has seen an impressive amount of growth. We've added about 11,000 pages this year, which is frankly incredible for a wiki this big. November was predictably one of the busiest months we've ever had: over 500 unique editors pitched in. It was the highest number of editors in wiki history for a year in which only one programme in the DWU was active. And our viewing stats have been through the roof. We've averaged well over 2 million page views each week for the last two months, with some weeks seeing over 4 million views!

We've received an unprecedented level of support from Wikia Staff, resulting in all sorts of new goodies and productive new relationships. And we've recently decided to lift almost every block we've ever made so as to allow most everyone a second chance to be part of our community.

2014 promises to build on this year's foundations, especially since we've got a full, unbroken series coming up — something that hasn't happened since 2011. We hope you'll stick with us — or return to the Tardis — so that you can be a part of the fun!
