Making new pagesedit source

Hi. I've noticed that you've created pages for the Miniaturist and the Warrior and that you've written them both out of universe and in the present tense. Perhaps consider familiarising yourself with T:POV and other guidelines. Jack "BtR" Saxon 21:02, 13 April 2022 (UTC)

Re: Master nameedit source

Ah, sorry for the confusion. The name in the infobox should correspond to the names of the actual pages, as chosen in the Forum discussion. So since Beevers is at Decayed Master, that's what his infobox ought to say (and no quotation marks if y'please), whereas Simm is currently just The Master (Utopia) and his infobox should just say "The Master". "Saxon" Master is, for now, to be used only when clarification is actually necessary. Scrooge MacDuck 22:44, 9 January 2023 (UTC)

Appearancesedit source

Duh, stupid me! The template (namely, Doctor appearances) was the very reason I went to perform those moves, but then I ended up forgetting to update the thing :p

Thanks for reminding me, all links should be working now. OncomingStorm12th 22:52, 23 January 2023 (UTC)

Unavailable videosedit source

Hi. So, uhm, I just checked The Runaway Bride to see what the problem is, and I've been getting the same error. However, File:Doctor Who - Taxi vs Tardis - BBC, which is used in that page, seems to be working fine outside of the infobox.

I'll check with Bongo or SOTO what could be going wrong, since they're more tech-y then I am. Thanks for reporting this issue. OncomingStorm12th 15:44, 4 June 2023 (UTC)

This seems to be a Fandom bug. I've reported it. Bongo50 19:17, 4 June 2023 (UTC)

Re: Abuse filteredit source

Sorry about that. I made a mistake when implementing the filter that meant that it blocked all non-admins from making any edits. It should be fixed now. This will teach me to add abuse filter rules on my phone in a rush. Bongo50 20:06, 29 August 2023 (UTC)

Re: Earned badgesedit source

I'm not seeing the hover-text either. I'm not suprised, though. Achievements is a very old feature that has been grandfathered into the current software and I do not expect it to last more than a few more years. Bongo50 20:18, 29 August 2023 (UTC)

Re: Editing on Davrosedit source

Hi. Thanks for your attempts to direct User:Greenarcher190 to the talk page. They are appreciated. In future, though, it would be better if you didn't continue the edit war yourself. I don't think this is block worthy and I do understand your case, but having an extra image of Davros in the infobox for the length of time it would take an admin to review and resolve the situation will not harm the wiki in any meaningful way. Again, thanks for trying to help the newer user. Bongo50 22:58, 24 November 2023 (UTC)

I've just seen your 22:57 UTC message to me. I understand and your appology is a nice extra which I accept fully. Bongo50 23:01, 24 November 2023 (UTC)
I forgot to actually click the block button. My mistake! Bongo50 23:04, 24 November 2023 (UTC)

Re: Random vandalismedit source

Thanks. I've blocked them. Bongo50 13:14, 5 December 2023 (UTC)

Re: Using Talk pages as forumsedit source

I think the source of this is that a link to the talk page is included in subpage tabs (as decided on at Forum:Subpage tabs), making the pages much easier to find and giving more of an impression that they're for readers as well as editors. Perhaps it would be worth revisiting their inclusion in the template? In terms of immediate action, I will message this user and also give them a short block with a note as to where to find the message. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. Re: Vandalismedit source

Ah, thank you! Well, now at least we're sure the blocking function works, eh… --Scrooge MacDuck 00:45, 26 February 2024 (UTC)

Re: Dalek graffitiedit source

Thanks so much, I really appreciate your message! It blew my mind too, and I'm glad that now it can now be out there as part of fan consciousness. Looking at your edit history, I like the music stuff you were doing today; nice and tidy and neat! TheChampionOfTime 03:11, 26 February 2024 (UTC)

Re: Username changeedit source

Hi. Only bureaucrats have the ability to rename users. I recommend you ask either User:SOTO or User:Tangerineduel. They should be able to assist. Bongo50 20:43, 2 March 2024 (UTC)

I've noted who the bureaucrats are on Tardis:Administrators. Thanks for pointing that out. Bongo50 22:01, 2 March 2024 (UTC)
Hey again! I've gone ahead with your request.
(I should note, for the public record, that we're considering placing a moratorium on user rename requests, outside special cases, while working out a policy framework. This is a very simple case, though, where there's no possible confusion.)
Normally, I'd recommend adding your old username to your user page. In this case, since it's unique and distinctive, it's up to you! Welcome to our new home. 🟦📖

RE: Imagesedit source

You did well to reach out to me. I did mean to leave you a message out of courtesy, but there's much going on at once at the moment, I'm afraid.

So long as you understand that popular pages always need infobox image discussions for changes (though sometimes, a temporary image will be placed by an admin at the start of a discussion, if it's determined the current one does not meet our standards), I see no reason for an official warning here.

But please read through Tardis:Don't let a pretty face ignite a war, for the avoidance of all doubt. In particular:

[...] [N]ote that there are some pages, such as The Doctor and The Master, where considerable, years-long debates have occurred to get them to their current state. Changes to such pages' infoboxes may be immediately reverted to uphold the existing community consensus. It's also long been a general rule that infobox images for all the Doctors, the Master, the companions and long-standing television stories require community discussion (and admin closure) on the article talk pages before changing these images.

Thanks!

Re: Notesedit source

No, I think you have that backwards. I seem to recall we changed that alongside the purging of other story-centric terminology, since non-narrative sources should also have such a section and "Feature notes" etc. would just be weird. It is the story pages with "Story notes" which should be altered, although probably we'll do a bot run for this at some point. --Scrooge MacDuck 00:13, 26 August 2024 (UTC)

(I've found the thread! It was Forum:References/Notes/Continuity#Conclusion.) --Scrooge MacDuck 15:07, 2 September 2024 (UTC)
