We've got a couple of important quirks for a Wikia wiki, so let's get them out of the way first.
British English, please
We generally use British English round these parts, so if you're American, please be sure you set your spell checker to BrEng, and take a gander at our spelling cheat card.
Spoilers aren't cool
We have a strict definition of "spoiler" that you may find a bit unusual. Basically, a spoiler, to us, is anything that comes from a story which has not been released yet. So, even if you've got some info from a BBC press release or official trailer, it basically can't be referenced here. In other words, you gotta wait until the episode has finished its premiere broadcast to start editing about its contents. Please check the spoiler policy for more details.

Hi. Welcome to the Wikia. Since you're new to this we have a lot of policies and would like that you read them before starting to edit. We do not allow anyone else than admins to move pages. PAGENAME replacements[[edit source]]

I guess I would be the second one to welcome you to the Wiki and suggest to read the policies. I've noticed that you had been replacing the PAGENAME template. I would appreciate it if you didn't do it. I keep track of pages I've edited and your changes create unnecessary traffic. (Disclaimer: I am not an admin, and this is a personal request.) PAGENAME is allowed on this Wiki, moreover, it is inserted by most of standard preloads. It does not require changing. In fact, there was a recent case when a user was temporarily blocked exactly for changing PAGENAME en masse (see User_talk:PapiDimmi#Block). I wish you to find a topic that is underrepresented on this Wiki and that you are interested in and make it shine. Happy editing. Amorkuz ☎ 21:16, October 14, 2016 (UTC)

Hmm... I'm afraid your PAGENAME edits look differently for an outside observer. If you look at your last change Special:Diff/2038457/2102738 of, say, Ada Byron, then you'll see that the PAGENAME template was simply replaced with the text copy of the page name. There is no difference in how the page is rendered. So the end result of your edits is the complete disappearance of the PAGENAME template. Whether it needs to be changed back is a question for admins. My only point was that the negligently small end result of such edits does not seem worth either your time (there are thousands of these PAGENAMES on the wiki) nor my time on figuring out what has changed. In addition, if you have noticed a recurring syntax violation, the most efficient way of dealing with it might be contacting one of the admins with a bot (SOTO or CzechOut) and suggesting to use the said bot to perform a uniform correction. One last thought. Here is a situation when PAGENAME is preferable. I recently noticed a typo in a very long Slitheen name. As appropriate, I marked it for "speedy rename" by an admin. When PAGENAME is used, the admin can simply move the page and be done with it. If the actual name is used instead of PAGENAME, the admin would have to type the same long name twice, which is unnecessary work and increases the chances of inadvertently introducing another typo. It's not for me to decide what you can or cannot do on this Wiki. It's your time, and you are certainly free to choose the kind of edits you like to make. And any improvement is certainly welcome. The en masse edits are dangerous in that it is easy to accidentally break some rule and get an angry call from an admin. In a sense, I'd simply like to minimise your potential frustration in such a case. The policies of this Wiki are vast and varied and distributed over helps and forums. I don't even pretend to know half of them. But I'd still like to warn you that they are different from other wikis and often different from what you may expect. So if you see the same thing repeated over and over again, it may not be neglect, it might well be a not-immediately-obvious policy. It feels like we need more editors: I know of whole series that remain in a stub form because the current man/woman-power does not seem to be enough. So it'd be great if you stayed. I need to know just how you can perform so many edits in a small time. Are you using a bot? If so, that is against wiki policy.
