User talk:Kirby-Force

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference
Welcome to the Tardis:About Kirby-Force

Thanks for your edits! We hope you'll keep on editing with us. This is a great time to have joined us, because now you can play the Game of Rassilon with us and win cool stuff! Well, okay, badges. That have no monetary value. And that largely only you can see. But still: they're cool!

We only take the best!

We've got a couple of important quirks for a Wikia wiki, so let's get them out of the way first.
British English, please
We generally use British English round these parts, so if you're American, please be sure you set your spell checker to BrEng, and take a gander at our spelling cheat card.
Spoilers aren't cool
We have a strict definition of "spoiler" that you may find a bit unusual. Basically, a spoiler, to us, is anything that comes from a story which has not been released yet. So, even if you've got some info from a BBC press release or official trailer, it basically can't be referenced here. In other words, you gotta wait until the episode has finished its premiere broadcast to start editing about its contents. Please check the spoiler policy for more details.
Other useful stuff
Aside from those two things, we also have some pages that you should probably read when you get a chance, like:

If you're brand new to wiki editing — and we all were, once! —  you probably want to check out these tutorials at Wikipedia, the world's largest wiki:

Remember that you should always sign your comments on talk and vote pages using four tildes like this:

Images on episode pages[[edit source]]

You've added various images to story pages. While these are indeed official and BBC-licensed, T:DWUP states that for story images, promotional images must not be used, and in-universe footage that's a "poignant scene" should be used instead. (Covers for novels and audio dramas are different, but the one's you've been editing aren't from those). -- Tybort (talk page) 22:01, December 2, 2011 (UTC)

You need to stop adding publicity photos to episode pages. Publicity photos are out of continuity and thus should not be used. unless you have a snapshot from the episode that ISN'T FROM THE BBC WESITE; don't change the main image. I will thank you for adding the images to Night and the Doctor, because those work fine. --OS24 17:37, December 4, 2011 (UTC)
Oh coarse, as long as they aren't publicity photos. Oh, and that is cool I guess. --OS24 18:09, December 4, 2011 (UTC)

Protected pages[[edit source]]

Please do not adjust link names or create pages in violation of our Tardis:Spoiler policy. The Doctor, the Widow and the Wardrobe will be available for editing following its broadcast. Thanks. --Tangerineduel / talk 14:04, December 3, 2011 (UTC)

User page images[[edit source]]

You are exeding the 3 image limit on your user page. Please see Image Policy for more details. --Revan\Talk 18:08, December 6, 2011 (UTC)

That is irrelevant, it still violates the User image policy. Please select three of the images you wish to keep and remove the others from your user page. Thanks. --Revan\Talk 18:32, December 6, 2011 (UTC)

birthday![[edit source]]

happy birthday! Metardis talk to me 14:39, December 8, 2011 (UTC)

User Image Policy[[edit source]]

You have ignored warnings to remove images from your user page and are still in violation of the Tardis:User Image Policy. I have deleted all but three images from your user page so that you are no longer violating the rules of this wikia. In future please adhere by the rules of this wikia, especially after being warned to do so by admin staff. Thanks. --Revan\Talk 16:09, December 8, 2011 (UTC)

Galleries and other things[[edit source]]

Thanks for your question. No, it would not be appropriate or allowed to have galleries in the instances you mentioned.

Please familiarise yourself with Help:Gallery. In particular, T:GAL RULES forbids the use of galleries on in-universe pages (which means no character pages shall have galleries), and greatly limits their use on story pages (allowing their use only on covers). You wanted to have a gallery of pics from the body of an episode on that episode's page, and this is specifically outlawed in the final sentence of T:GAL RULES, point 4.

Additionally, please remember that you are required to sign your name each and every time you leave a message on someone's talk page by our discussion policy and signature policy. I shouldn't have to look in the page history just to figure out who left a comment so that I can reply to them.

Finally, I hope that your very strange use of title case is not an example of the way you normally edit here. In just about every instance, you should be using sentence case. Please Don't Capitalise Every Word.

Image tags[[edit source]]

Hi, please don't tag a publicity shot as a screenshot. --Tangerineduel / talk 15:50, December 20, 2011 (UTC)

The Adventure Games[[edit source]]

Please stop changing the Series 2 table to specials. If you would actually read the sources, they state there is a series and that the Gunpowder plot is the first episode. Removal of the content with out a valid can be seen as vandalism and get you blocked from editing. Thank you for your understanding. MM/Want to talk? 16:14, December 20, 2011 (UTC)

Your input is needed!

Why?[[edit source]]

Why did you decide to add 'I Know!' to the intro section of The Doctor, the Widow and the Wardrobe? This kind of behviour is not acceptable as it can be seen as vandalism and a blockable offence. Please to not do this in future.

Also, please do not add every single word in capital case. You should be writing in sentence case. Thank you and I do hope you enjoy The Doctor, the Widow and the Wardrobe. MM/Want to talk? 20:14, December 25, 2011 (UTC)

Block[[edit source]]

You have been blocked for a period of one week. The reason being is you input of vandalism on severaL pages on this wiki, including The Doctor, the Widow and the Wardrobe. You also create a number of completely pointless pages such as 'Delete'. At this time you can still edit your own talk page and you block will be lifted after the new year. Thank you. MM/Want to talk? 22:17, December 25, 2011 (UTC)

Just so you know, your block has now been lifted. MM/Want to talk? 02:19, January 19, 2012 (UTC)

Block[[edit source]]

You have now been blocked permanently from this wiki becuase you were running multiply accounts from the one IP address - which wikia confirmed. This is called 'sock puppetry' and is and instant, infinite, blockable offence. You had two other accounts, User:Angel Bill and User:Hot Rod Cow. Thank you for your time here. MM/Want to talk? 20:18, January 19, 2012 (UTC)

Christmas cheer[[edit source]]

Happy holidays!

As this fiftieth anniversary year comes to a close, we here at Tardis just want to thank you for being a part of our community — even if you haven't edited here in a while. If you have edited with us this year, then thanks for all your hard work.

This year has seen an impressive amount of growth. We've added about 11,000 pages this year, which is frankly incredible for a wiki this big. November was predictably one of the busiest months we've ever had: over 500 unique editors pitched in. It was the highest number of editors in wiki history for a year in which only one programme in the DWU was active. And our viewing stats have been through the roof. We've averaged well over 2 million page views each week for the last two months, with some weeks seeing over 4 million views!

We've received an unprecedented level of support from Wikia Staff, resulting in all sorts of new goodies and productive new relationships. And we've recently decided to lift almost every block we've ever made so as to allow most everyone a second chance to be part of our community.

2014 promises to build on this year's foundations, especially since we've got a full, unbroken series coming up — something that hasn't happened since 2011. We hope you'll stick with us — or return to the Tardis — so that you can be a part of the fun!
