We've got a couple of important quirks for a Fandom wiki, so let's get them out of the way first.
British English, please
We generally use British English 'round these parts, so if you use another form of English, please be sure you set your spell checker to BrEng, and take a gander at our spelling cheat card.
Spoilers aren't cool
We have a strict definition of "spoiler" that you may find a bit unusual. Basically, a spoiler, to us, is anything that comes from a story which has not been released yet. So, even if you've got some info from a BBC press release or official trailer, it basically can't be referenced here. In other words, you gotta wait until the episode has finished its premiere broadcast to start editing about its contents. Please check the spoiler policy for more details.

Re: Spanish book plagiarises the Tardis Wiki[[edit source]]
Thank you very much for bringing this to our attention. Text on this wiki is published under the CC-BY-SA 3.0 license (Spanish version). The intent of this license is to allow anyone to copy and build upon the text of the wiki freely, subject to a few rules. Therefore, in general, someone copying text from this website is fine and even encouraged to an extent, as long as these rules are satisfied. However, I deeply suspect that the rules won't all be followed in this scenario.
The first rule is attribution. This means that the people who wrote the text must be credited in some form. Under Fandom's licensing agreement, this is allowed to be as simple as a link to the specific page that the text was taken from. This Tweet does say, assuming that nothing was lost in translation, that this wiki is mentioned as a source. Under this rule, that is not enough. Ultimately, though, the only thing that we can really do is wait for the book's release and then check if attribution has been performed correctly.
The second rule is "ShareAlike". This means that any changes made to the wiki's text (including the translation and slight restructuring occuring here) must also be released under the CC-BY-SA license. Depending on how much of the book is adapted from the wiki, that could cause large amounts of the book to become licensed under the CC-BY-SA license and that would severly limit their ability to sell the book as it would be completely legally fine to copy any CC-BY-SA parts of the book and distrubute them online. Hence, I doubt that they will make it clear that part of their book is under the CC-BY-SA license and attempt to pass it off as being "non-free" and under full copyright. That would violate this rule. However, the only way to know for sure would be to wait for the book's release.
Therefore, there is really very little we can do until the book is released and we can check everything for sure. I will pass this situation on to Fandom, though. Thanks again for letting us know. Even if nothing comes of it, it's great to be aware. Bongo50 ☎ 18:25, 3 August 2023 (UTC)
