Welcome to the Tardis:About Pbandfluff

Thanks for your edits! We hope you'll keep on editing with us. This is a great time to have joined us, because now you can play the Game of Rassilon with us and win cool stuff! Well, okay, badges. That have no monetary value. And that largely only you can see. But still: they're cool!

We've got a couple of important quirks for a Wikia wiki, so let's get them out of the way first.
British English, please
We generally use British English round these parts, so if you're American, please be sure you set your spell checker to BrEng, and take a gander at our spelling cheat card.
Spoilers aren't cool
We have a strict definition of "spoiler" that you may find a bit unusual. Basically, a spoiler, to us, is anything that comes from a story which has not been released yet. So, even if you've got some info from a BBC press release or official trailer, it basically can't be referenced here. In other words, you gotta wait until the episode has finished its premiere broadcast to start editing about its contents. Please check the spoiler policy for more details.
Other useful stuff
Aside from those two things, we also have some pages that you should probably read when you get a chance, like:

If you're brand new to wiki editing — and we all were, once! —  you probably want to check out these tutorials at Wikipedia, the world's largest wiki:

Remember that you should always sign your comments on talk and vote pages using four tildes like this:

Merges and renames[[edit source]]

Hi! Please do not take it upon yourself to move pages, especially if there is a merge or rename tag on the page, as these tags require discussion by the wiki community. In addition, non-admins do not have the ability to do some of the tasks required for page moves and merges, so the job is only half done. Next time, add a tag if you think a page needs a merge or rename, or if it already has the tag, you can add your thoughts to the discussion. Thanks! Shambala108 18:46, November 15, 2014 (UTC)

Recent edits[[edit source]]

Hi! I don't know what experience you have with other wikis, but we do things differently from many wikis. A few of your edits today had to be reverted because they ran afoul of some of our policies.

  • Tardis:Citation - We have a very specific way of citing stories on in-universe articles. Prefixes must link separately from stories. Also, though there is no specific guidelines, citing every paragraph is not necessary if the paragraphs are from the same source. I suggest browsing a few different-length articles to see how it's generally done.
  • Tardis:Spelling - With the exception of quotations, we use British spelling and grammar on this wiki.
  • Tardis:Use sentence case - There was one example where you added a new heading in which every main word was capitalized. We use sentence case for all headings, even though the higher level headings show up in all-caps.

Page moves[[edit source]]

Hey, there is a reason we don't let non-admins move pages. It's because there are actions that need to be taken during a page move that non-admins can't perform. And as for names from novelizations, I honestly have no idea where the policy stands right now because it's changed so much in the last few years. I suggest you ask User:SOTO or User:OncomingStorm12th to take a look at the situation, but keep in mind that all admins on this wiki are volunteers and page move discussions do take a lot of time. Novelisation page names[[edit source]]

I'll leave it to an admin to make an official verdict on Lavel, but it's my understanding that names from novelizations aren't used in page titles. For what it's worth, I agree this is frustrating and should be changed (hopefully soon); at User:NateBumber/Sandbox3 I have a list of pages which could be renamed after a rule change, and I appreciate adding Lavel at your suggestion. Are there any other, similar pages that you can think of which belong on the list but aren't already? – n8 () 23:11, 31 August 2021 (UTC)

And while I appreciate you following my instructions by asking User:SOTO, you will find the information you need at Talk:Lavel, the page you originally posted the question at. Shambala108 00:44, 3 September 2021 (UTC)
