We've got a couple of important quirks for a Wikia wiki, so let's get them out of the way first.
British English, please
We generally use British English round these parts, so if you're American, please be sure you set your spell checker to BrEng, and take a gander at our spelling cheat card.
Spoilers aren't cool
We have a strict definition of "spoiler" that you may find a bit unusual. Basically, a spoiler, to us, is anything that comes from a story which has not been released yet. So, even if you've got some info from a BBC press release or official trailer, it basically can't be referenced here. In other words, you gotta wait until the episode has finished its premiere broadcast to start editing about its contents. Please check the spoiler policy for more details.
Other useful stuff

Pinball game

Hi! I can explain why I removed those categories, but it's a bit involved so I'll be sending you some links that you can read to get the full explanation.

Since Doctor Who doesn't have a canon, we don't try to define a canon here on this wiki. However, we do choose which stories to count for writing in universe articles. We have certain guidelines for those articles over at Tardis:Valid sources.

Basically, most (if not all) video games fail our guidelines. The pinball game, in particular, violates our guidelines because of this quote from the article: "The player decides before beginning a round of play which of the seven Doctors s/he wants to rescue." This means that gameplay will vary from user to user, so we don't have one specific narrative.

Therefore, this game being what we call "invalid", the regular categories don't go on the page. Please see another example of these categories being removed from another invalid game at [1] where User:CzechOut explains in the edit summary that these categories do not apply.

One other thing, please be sure to sign your name on another user's page when you leave a message. In general, my policy is that I don't answer unsigned posts, but I make exceptions when the user is new. You sign a post by typing ~~~~ after your comments. Thanks! Howard Carter

RingoRoadagain, the fact is Howard Carter has arranged multiple versions of the theme. It would simply be inaccurate to say that there is one definitive Howard Carter theme. There is absolutely nothing stopping the first theme from being used again. As for Murray Gold's themes, I believe they will be categorized in the same way that Delia Delaware's themes are: in the order that they were made.

You might argue that this should also be done with Carter, but my counter-argument for that is the fact that the TV show and Big Finish are very different things. While on TV there is a definite order of theme composers (e.g. Glynn, McCulloch, Gold), in audio the theme changes with the doctor. I think it's far less confusing if we state where the theme originates.

Side Note: Please don't feel offended by this. As User:CzechOut told me a week ago, everyone has had work deleted from the wiki. Everyone makes mistakes... and if you think the person whose mistaken is me then please respond. C o T ☎ 19:29, June 27, 2016 (UTC)

OK, by my count there are 6 regular themes:

• Murray Gold's 1st theme (Series 1)
• Murray Gold's 2nd theme (Series 2 & 3)
• Murray Gold's 3rd theme (Series 4)
• Murray Gold's 4th theme (Series 5, 6, & 1/2 of 7)
• Murray Gold's 5th theme (Series 7 and a half)
• Murray Gold's 6th theme (Series 8 & 9)

First things first, you're right, there is no difference between the themes for Series 1 & 2 + 3. Maybe the word "variation" could be removed from the category title, leading to the less clunky "Stories that use Murray Gold's 1st main theme".

Also in regards to Damaged Goods, if Big Finish were to release another novel adaptation with Chris and Roz as companions, they would probably use the Carter theme again. If this is announced, we would however have to wait until its release to talk about it due to Tardis:Spoiler policy.

Back onto the main topic, I could definitely see myself creating "Stories that use Murray Gold's 1st main theme" sometime in the near future. If you want to, go right ahead. C o T ☎ 20:08, June 28, 2016 (UTC)

Pages for translators

Once again, it is not clear why this is of interest to English speakers. In the case of the books you mention, they are published in Japanese. The translators names are also in Japanese, are they not? As I already explained writing Japanese names in Latin alphabet has no discernible use other than to confuse the reader. I am not proposing to delete the images of the covers or not mention the editions. I have serious doubts that the provided English transliterations of the titles make any sense, nor can I verify it. However, like dub actors, translators belong on the wiki of the respective language because their involvement with Doctor Who happens outside of English, which is the language of this wiki. Magnus, the War Chief & Co.

I personally approve of the spirit of your edits on The War Chief, but as regards possibly taking the info about Flashback-Magnus off the page and/or saying that the mention of a Magnus in Invasion of the Cat-People refers to Magnus (Flashback) rather than Magnus-from-Divided-Loyalties, a.k.a. the War Chief… I'd say this needs discussing on the talk page, but more broadly, I plan to start a forum thread about where we stand with the War Chief, the Master and Magnus fairly soon; once Thread:257167 is closed, in point of fact. I thought that might be the case but I was just double checking in case you had found something which sourced all the images from that story. In any event, Argh! confirms that some of the images were taken from the Quinn family photo album but doesn't elaborate further. I'm not sure what to do here. Uncredited people need sources so I don't think policy would allow us to create Hazel Quinn off of this (albeit very likely) assumption. Hey Ringo, as someone in a country where the new printing of The Novel of the Film seemingly isn't available yet, I'm enjoying your thorough summary of its differences from the first edition. I noticed you mentioned that Pete and Ted's family names are stated. Would you happen to remember what those family names are? Halloween amnesty

At the suggestion of User:CzechOut, non-vandalism-based blocks will be lifted early on the occasion of the Halloween season, to give misguided users a second chance in time for the period of more intense editing we are about to enter. Accordingly, although your original block would have kept you blocked for longer still, you are now unblocked.

Note that this does not erase your earlier misbehaviour from your record, and repeat offences will be dealt with as repeat offences, with the increased severity this implies. The original edits which triggered the blocking filter were a complicated issue, and although you were reckless in attempting to repost the page once User:Shambala108 unblocked you, we recognise that you did not have ill intent. However, you did breach Help:I'm blocked protocol in reaching out to several admins at once. Please pay more attention to the official protocols for dealing with a block in future, even if you think it is a technical issue rather than an intentional punishment.
