We've got a couple of important quirks for a Wikia wiki, so let's get them out of the way first.
British English, please
We generally use British English round these parts, so if you're American, please be sure you set your spell checker to BrEng, and take a gander at our spelling cheat card.
Spoilers aren't cool
We have a strict definition of "spoiler" that you may find a bit unusual. Basically, a spoiler, to us, is anything that comes from a story which has not been released yet. So, even if you've got some info from a BBC press release or official trailer, it basically can't be referenced here. In other words, you gotta wait until the episode has finished its premiere broadcast to start editing about its contents. Please check the spoiler policy for more details.
Other useful stuff
Aside from those two things, we also have some pages that you should probably read when you get a chance, like:

Infobox pics[[edit source]]
Hey, Scott! Thanks for your upload of The Tenth Doctor.jpg. I unfortunately had to delete it, because it violated several policy points. I want to encourage you to drop by T:ICC for a simple chart of the most pressing image policies. But you'll probably find Tardis:Guide to images even more illustrative. The guide's still being worked on, but there's more than enough there to explain why your pic wasn't better than what was already there. Basically, we prefer widescreen images for infoboxes, and there's simply no reason we can't have one for the Tenth Doctor, since his entire era was filmed in widescreen! Also, your image had far too big a filesize. There's no reason for most infobox pics to be over 100kb.
You've also been a bit unlucky here be cause we specifically changed away from that End of Time sombre shot not too long ago, because we deemed it to be not representative of the Tenth Doctor as a whole. Generally, he wasn't terribly serious, so we wanted something a little more upbeat.
If you don't like the pic that's currently there, feel free to try to find something better! I'm not saying it has to be the current image. But you have to replace it with something that fits our policies and guidelines.

- Hey again, Scott. Please make sure you've read those guideline pages I linked to, above before submitting more pics. In particular, you need to watch your dimensions and your file sizes. Your version of Young melody escaping.jpg was portrait orientated and it was far, far too large. Please look at the differences between your version and mine.
Please remember that at least 20% of all visitors to the site are using mobile devices, which may not have great bandwidths. Therefore, a file that's 16kb, versus one that's 300kb, can be significant to some users, even though it really makes no difference at all if you're at home on your computer wired in to high-speed internet. For this reason, we ask that you try to limit your filesizes to no more than 100kb — though, as you can see, much lower file-sizes are possible, without an appreciable drop in picture quality.
Also, please make sure your pics are added to appropriate categories. You have to do this manually at the time of upload. In this case, you'd want to add category:River Song images, as well as the category for whatever episode applies, such as Category:Day of the Moon TV story images.

Christmas cheer[[edit source]]
As this fiftieth anniversary year comes to a close, we here at Tardis just want to thank you for being a part of our community — even if you haven't edited here in a while. If you have edited with us this year, then thanks for all your hard work.
This year has seen an impressive amount of growth. We've added about 11,000 pages this year, which is frankly incredible for a wiki this big. November was predictably one of the busiest months we've ever had: over 500 unique editors pitched in. It was the highest number of editors in wiki history for a year in which only one programme in the DWU was active. And our viewing stats have been through the roof. We've averaged well over 2 million page views each week for the last two months, with some weeks seeing over 4 million views!
We've received an unprecedented level of support from Wikia Staff, resulting in all sorts of new goodies and productive new relationships. And we've recently decided to lift almost every block we've ever made so as to allow most everyone a second chance to be part of our community.
2014 promises to build on this year's foundations, especially since we've got a full, unbroken series coming up — something that hasn't happened since 2011. We hope you'll stick with us — or return to the Tardis — so that you can be a part of the fun!
User page infobox[[edit source]]
Hi! Please change the infobox on your user page from "Infobox Person" to "Infobox User". Infobox Person is only used for people who worked on something in the DWU. Infobox User is for editors on the wiki. Thanks. Shambala108 ☎ 19:30, July 2, 2014 (UTC)
- It shouldn't be a problem (as far as I know). The main thing was that the infobox you were using, "Infobox Person", automatically puts a page in a category for people who work on the DWU. That's why wiki users can't use it. Thanks for the quick action! Shambala108 ☎ 03:10, July 3, 2014 (UTC)
