Some Doctor Who Notes:[[edit source]]
. Make sure things are in past tense and written as though in-universe when writing about events taking place in the Whoniverse.
. If someone removes your stuff for a reason, DONT add it back.
. Source your images
. No speculation, just FACTS
. Good grammar
. Stay on task and dont add irrelevant stuff
. Respect other users
. Dont be too repetitive
Tips[[edit source]]
Hey. When adding info, remember to put it in past tense. Also, every fact you state needs to be backed up with an episode or episodes which prove this. The Thirteenth Doctor 17:25, October 20, 2010 (UTC)
- It's not silly. What if I go on to an article and say that Sarah Jane died in 2034 without providing a source. With what you're saying I wouldn't need to provide where the information came from, which is how fanon ends up on other wikis, which it shouldn't. Also, please leave new messages at the bottom of talk pages, don't replace old discussion sections. It is important that they all be kept on the page. Thanks. --The Thirteenth Doctor 17:51, October 20, 2010 (UTC)
Jo[[edit source]]
Firstly, I do take offence, because I never touched your edit and don't like the way you rant on my talk page. Secondly, I support the user that removed your edit. The people that write the Virgin novels are not idiots. The novels are the only source we have on Jo's death. If you can find a higher canon source then please put that alongside it, but unless you do, stop adding speculation. --The Thirteenth Doctor 16:05, October 27, 2010 (UTC)
Information and discussions[[edit source]]
Hello. Please don't speculate within articles. On this wiki we deal with canon information (see our canon policy for more info). The Virgin novels do say several things. The novel that states Jo's death though is a Big Finish Productions published short story anthology of the Short Trips range.
Please also review our discussion policy and the related no personal attacks information.
All of this and our other polices can be found at Tardis:Help. --Tangerineduel 16:51, October 27, 2010 (UTC)
- ThePandoricaOpens666, I'm going to ask you to look at your [http://tardis.wikia.com/index.php?title=User_talk:ThePandoricaOpens666&oldid=427783 user talk page from back in September. Read over it carefully. There are lots of things on there that are exactly the same as they are now. You've done many of the exact same things and expecting different outcomes. --The Thirteenth Doctor 17:57, October 27, 2010 (UTC)
- Hello once again. Technically Revanvolatrelundar didn't call you anything, Revanvolatrelundar referred to your user name in a subheading on my talk page. I knew which user he was talking about by looking at The Thirteenth Doctor's user talk page history.
- When writing off quick messages on talk pages everyone makes minor mistakes.
- The Thirteenth Doctor like other regular editors keeps an eye on this wiki, given the frequency of edits and vandalism on many pages that are often edited sometimes it is necessary to undo edits quickly and warn off vandals.
- A brisk warning that clearly states the issue(s), but communicates the problems is preferable that the other actions that would be taken (blocking the user or fully protecting the article).
- If you wish to discuss the editing of a specific page leave a comment on that page, or if it is a wider wiki issue that you wish to discuss start a topic in the Forums.
- Your comments directed at The Thirteenth Doctor were veering towards an attack, which was why I thought I would try to assist you before anything escalated.
- This is a wiki encyclopaedia about the Doctor Who universe, there are equally as dedicated users on Memory Alpha, the Wookeepedia, the Muppets Wiki, the Harry Potter Wiki and the countless other wikis around. --Tangerineduel 13:01, October 28, 2010 (UTC)
Red Links[[edit source]]
Please do not remove red links from pages as they can be filled in by a user at a later date. Revanvolatrelundar 17:46, October 28, 2010 (UTC)
More Tips[[edit source]]
- On the first sentence of an article please bold the article title (you will see what i mean at the start of any article).
- Give an article a category when you create it.
- When writing sources, put the story name in italics e.g. (TV: Utopia) instead of (TV:Utopia).
- Dont put full stops at the end of sources, just at the end of sentences.
Revanvolatrelundar 13:20, October 29, 2010 (UTC)
Then ask an admin to change the policies to reflect this, dont do it yourself, the admins should be the only ones changing policies, otherwise people could change them to suit themselves. Revanvolatrelundar 18:54, January 23, 2011 (UTC)
Spoilers[[edit source]]
Do not add spoilers to in-universe articles until after the episode airs. Thanks. 16:32, April 14, 2011 (UTC)

Christmas cheer[[edit source]]
As this fiftieth anniversary year comes to a close, we here at Tardis just want to thank you for being a part of our community — even if you haven't edited here in a while. If you have edited with us this year, then thanks for all your hard work.
This year has seen an impressive amount of growth. We've added about 11,000 pages this year, which is frankly incredible for a wiki this big. November was predictably one of the busiest months we've ever had: over 500 unique editors pitched in. It was the highest number of editors in wiki history for a year in which only one programme in the DWU was active. And our viewing stats have been through the roof. We've averaged well over 2 million page views each week for the last two months, with some weeks seeing over 4 million views!
We've received an unprecedented level of support from Wikia Staff, resulting in all sorts of new goodies and productive new relationships. And we've recently decided to lift almost every block we've ever made so as to allow most everyone a second chance to be part of our community.
2014 promises to build on this year's foundations, especially since we've got a full, unbroken series coming up — something that hasn't happened since 2011. We hope you'll stick with us — or return to the Tardis — so that you can be a part of the fun!
