From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference
Welcome to the Tardis:About Varmint99

Thanks for your edits! We hope you'll keep on editing with us. This is a great time to have joined us, because now you can play the Game of Rassilon with us and win cool stuff! Well, okay, badges. That have no monetary value. And that largely only you can see. But still: they're cool!

We've got a couple of important quirks for a Wikia wiki, so let's get them out of the way first.
British English, please
We generally use British English round these parts, so if you're American, please be sure you set your spell checker to BrEng, and take a gander at our spelling cheat card.
Spoilers aren't cool
We have a strict definition of "spoiler" that you may find a bit unusual. Basically, a spoiler, to us, is anything that comes from a story which has not been released yet. So, even if you've got some info from a BBC press release or official trailer, it basically can't be referenced here. In other words, you gotta wait until the episode has finished its premiere broadcast to start editing about its contents. Please check the spoiler policy for more details.
Other useful stuff
Aside from those two things, we also have some pages that you should probably read when you get a chance, like:

If you're brand new to wiki editing — and we all were, once! —  you probably want to check out these tutorials at Wikipedia, the world's largest wiki:

Remember that you should always sign your comments on talk and vote pages using four tildes like this:

New pages[[edit source]]

Hi! You might have noticed that I added a "delete" tag to some new pages that you created. I suggest you check out Tardis:Spoiler policy to see exactly when and where you can add information about not-yet-aired stories. Thanks! Shambala108 21:57, January 23, 2013 (UTC)

Hath Peble[[edit source]]

Hi there. It has been brought to my attention by another user that the page you created, Hath Peble, does not actually appear in the Doctor Who universe, and has therefore been deleted on several occassions by our admin staff. Please note that everything you add to in-universe articles here on the wiki needs to come from an official story set in the Doctor Who universe, and must also be sourced as such, as can be seen on all our articles. Thanks for your time. --Revan\Talk 11:28, April 29, 2013 (UTC)

Block[[edit source]]

You are being permanently blocked from using our wiki today because:

  • You've multiply violated T:OFF REL, by creating several pages about then-unaired episodes back in January 2013
  • You continue to violate T:NO FANFIC by trying to include information about the fan character, Hath Peble
  • You are a likely sock puppet for Laurance John Cockroach, who also tried to create a page about Hath Peble. The chances that two people, two years apart, could be trying to create an article about the same fan creation are very remote.

Any one of these transgressions would be serious enough; combined they're more than adequate to justify banning you from the wiki. It's telling that your list of deleted contributions approximately equals your surviving contributions.

Christmas cheer[[edit source]]

Happy holidays!

As this fiftieth anniversary year comes to a close, we here at Tardis just want to thank you for being a part of our community — even if you haven't edited here in a while. If you have edited with us this year, then thanks for all your hard work.

This year has seen an impressive amount of growth. We've added about 11,000 pages this year, which is frankly incredible for a wiki this big. November was predictably one of the busiest months we've ever had: over 500 unique editors pitched in. It was the highest number of editors in wiki history for a year in which only one programme in the DWU was active. And our viewing stats have been through the roof. We've averaged well over 2 million page views each week for the last two months, with some weeks seeing over 4 million views!

We've received an unprecedented level of support from Wikia Staff, resulting in all sorts of new goodies and productive new relationships. And we've recently decided to lift almost every block we've ever made so as to allow most everyone a second chance to be part of our community.

2014 promises to build on this year's foundations, especially since we've got a full, unbroken series coming up — something that hasn't happened since 2011. We hope you'll stick with us — or return to the Tardis — so that you can be a part of the fun!

Page creation[[edit source]]

Hi! If you are going to continue to create pages on the wiki, please keep in mind that we have a certain format and set of rules that must be followed. I've had to do a lot of cleanup on the pages you created today. You must bold the title of the article, italicize the story title(s) and use proper formatting for the citation, include at least one category, and provide links to other articles. You can read the details at the following locations:

In addition, I suggest you browse the wiki to see the look and format of our articles. The pages as you created them do not add much to the wiki and instead create more work for other users. It's much easier to delete such pages than to clean them up. Thanks. Shambala108 15:25, June 6, 2014 (UTC)

I've had to delete the pages you've created today as you have not followed any of the guidelines outlined above. In addition, your article titles were a bit off. You don't put "place name" of "planet name" as a title; just the place name will do, and the planet can be listed in the body of the article. Please read through the material I've listed above, and learn how to properly create pages that fit with the rest of the wiki. Thanks. Shambala108 15:02, June 10, 2014 (UTC)

Cast and crew[[edit source]]

Please note that, per Tardis:Cast and crew lists, all cast and crew lists of television stories must appear exactly as they do on screen. They must not be changed to reflect information from other sources. In addition, if you add a last name to a character that doesn't have one, as you did at Nils, you must have a source. If he has a last name given by a valid source, then the page name can be changed to reflect that. Thanks. Shambala108 14:42, June 20, 2014 (UTC)
