Welcome to the Tardis:About William warlow

Thanks for your edits! We hope you'll keep on editing with us. This is a great time to have joined us, because now you can play the Game of Rassilon with us and win cool stuff! Well, okay, badges. That have no monetary value. And that largely only you can see. But still: they're cool!

We've got a couple of important quirks for a Wikia wiki, so let's get them out of the way first.
British English, please
We generally use British English round these parts, so if you're American, please be sure you set your spell checker to BrEng, and take a gander at our spelling cheat card.
Spoilers aren't cool
We have a strict definition of "spoiler" that you may find a bit unusual. Basically, a spoiler, to us, is anything that comes from a story which has not been released yet. So, even if you've got some info from a BBC press release or official trailer, it basically can't be referenced here. In other words, you gotta wait until the episode has finished its premiere broadcast to start editing about its contents. Please check the spoiler policy for more details.
Other useful stuff
Aside from those two things, we also have some pages that you should probably read when you get a chance, like:

If you're brand new to wiki editing — and we all were, once! —  you probably want to check out these tutorials at Wikipedia, the world's largest wiki:

Remember that you should always sign your comments on talk and vote pages using four tildes like this:

War Doctor image[[edit source]]

Hey there. It is general policy for the wiki to use the most common appearance for the character to appear in the infobox. The image of a young John Hurt is extremely unlikely to appear again in the show, and John Hurt will be appearing in the anniversary special in the same manner he appeared in The Name of the Doctor. Therefore due to this, the image of a young John Hurt will be placed at the start of his biography section, near to where the information surrounding that appearance happened. Hope that clears things up! --Revan\Talk 10:56, November 16, 2013 (UTC)

I see what you mean now. I've had quite an extensive play around with the picture and it just doesn't want to play nice. I thought perhaps moving the other picture lower down would let it occupy it's place on the right. I don't know what to tell you but I can't seem to get it where it should go. Sorry I couldn't be of any more help. --Revan\Talk 15:56, November 16, 2013 (UTC)

Infobox images[[edit source]]

Hi! Please do not change any infobox images. Most have been decided on after long discussion, and we do have certain standards for images that will appear in infoboxes. You can read about this at Tardis:Guide to images. Thanks! Shambala108 19:04, November 17, 2013 (UTC)

Hurt Doctor image; headings[[edit source]]

Hi! I deleted the image you uploaded of the Hurt Doctor because it violated several policies. For one thing, it is nearly identical but inferior in quality to an existing picture. Plus, you had not put a license tag on it or a category. Please visit Tardis:Image use policy, Tardis:Guide to images and T:ICC to see our image policies.

On another note, please do not put links in headings. We decided some time back to remove all links from headings. Thanks. Shambala108 18:19, November 19, 2013 (UTC)

Your image upload of the War Doctor has been deleted again. Your images will continue to be deleted if they violate policy. That is why I suggested above that you read our image policy pages. Shambala108 16:00, November 24, 2013 (UTC)

Deleting valid information[[edit source]]

Hi there. One of your recent edits to The Valeyard removed 1,600 characters of newly added information from AUDIO: Trial of the Valeyard. Regardless of your reasons for removing said text, the information from Trial of the Valeyard comes from a valid source which is accepted by the wiki. The edit you made is seen by this wiki as pure and simple vandalism. That being said, you are new to the wiki and no action will be taken on this edit other than this warning. Please be aware that further removal of information from a page without credible reason given can result in an editing block. --Revan\Talk 17:53, December 19, 2013 (UTC)

Christmas cheer[[edit source]]

Happy holidays!

As this fiftieth anniversary year comes to a close, we here at Tardis just want to thank you for being a part of our community — even if you haven't edited here in a while. If you have edited with us this year, then thanks for all your hard work.

This year has seen an impressive amount of growth. We've added about 11,000 pages this year, which is frankly incredible for a wiki this big. November was predictably one of the busiest months we've ever had: over 500 unique editors pitched in. It was the highest number of editors in wiki history for a year in which only one programme in the DWU was active. And our viewing stats have been through the roof. We've averaged well over 2 million page views each week for the last two months, with some weeks seeing over 4 million views!

We've received an unprecedented level of support from Wikia Staff, resulting in all sorts of new goodies and productive new relationships. And we've recently decided to lift almost every block we've ever made so as to allow most everyone a second chance to be part of our community.

2014 promises to build on this year's foundations, especially since we've got a full, unbroken series coming up — something that hasn't happened since 2011. We hope you'll stick with us — or return to the Tardis — so that you can be a part of the fun!

The Master[[edit source]]

Hi! I am reproducing here on your talk page the warning given at the top of the window when the Master article is edited:

WARNING: Many of the section titles in this article must remain precisely as they are for technical reasons. PLEASE DO NOT CHANGE the section titles without discussion at Board:The Panopticon.

As the warning state, section heads must stay as they are. There is a technical reason for doing this; if section heads are changed without discussion, many many other articles are messed up.

In addition, several of your edits to the page today have been reverted by two experienced editors (one is an admin). If you wish to make a case for these edits, please address them on the talk page so everyone else can discuss them. Thanks. Shambala108 21:52, February 24, 2014 (UTC)

The Master[[edit source]]

Hi! Please do not change the headings at the Master. We have several templates for the different Master actors that link to the headings in the article, and they don't work if the headings are changed. Thanks. Shambala108 13:44, May 11, 2014 (UTC)
