Thanks for your edits! We hope you'll keep on editing with us. This is a great time to have joined us, because now you can play the Game of Rassilon with us and win cool stuff! Well, okay, badges. That have no monetary value. And that largely only you can see. But still: they're cool!

We've got a couple of important quirks for a Wikia wiki, so let's get them out of the way first.
British English, please
We generally use British English round these parts, so if you're American, please be sure you set your spell checker to BrEng, and take a gander at our spelling cheat card.
Spoilers aren't cool
We have a strict definition of "spoiler" that you may find a bit unusual. Basically, a spoiler, to us, is anything that comes from a story which has not been released yet. So, even if you've got some info from a BBC press release or official trailer, it basically can't be referenced here. In other words, you gotta wait until the episode has finished its premiere broadcast to start editing about its contents. Please check the spoiler policy for more details.
Other useful stuff

Reply to a complaint

There are two possibilities why you are unhappy with the fate of your edits. Before explaining them, let me assure you that your experience is far from being unique. It is most common for first edits to be deleted. In fact, my own first edits were even less rewarding than yours: I got a reprimand from an admin for doing something wrong.

Here are the possibilities:

1. It may be, indeed, that you misinterpret the purpose of the Tardis wiki and are trying to edit about things this wiki had long ago decided not to discuss.
2. But it is far more likely that your mistakes are mistakes of learning. When you learn to drive, your instructor has a separate steering wheel and breaks. He or she prevents you from doing certain things. But the reason is not disrespect. The reason is because this goes against the rules. The same happened here on the wiki, except you were safe from any actual harm.

Let me explain why your edits were undone/deleted. Some of them were just malformed. You clearly posted something that did not make any sense, whether by mistake or because of the lack of familiarity with the interface. If you click on the following link Special:Diff/2468377, you will see that your edit did not even form a proper sentence, ending in "which were to ha|}". I can only thank the attentive editor who cleaned up after this edit. Mind, this is nothing to be ashamed of: it takes time to become proficient in wiki interface and markup language.

However, the problem of most of your edits is topic. You created one page based on a fan fiction, worse, fan fiction that is not yet published. This violated our policies T:NO FANFIC and Tardis:Spoiler policy. I know it is not apparent to a new editor, but this wiki has policies, a lot of policies, going back all the way to its founding in 2004. These policies are typically decided by a community discussion and then recorded by admin. It is completely understandable that you were not aware of them. But surely you can see that your desire to edit about these topics cannot overturn years of consensus by scores of other editors. Similarly, the second page you created was based on a hashtag that is mostly devoted to spoilery information about the upcoming season. It could not stay for the same reasons.

I hope you now understand why your contributions were deleted. It is completely your prerogative whether you would like to devote your time to fan fiction or try to find pages for already released licensed stories you could improve. In the latter case, please do not hesitate to ask us at Tardis:Administrators if something is unclear.
