The Vorlat were a benevolent species.
In a timeline in which Emily Rutherford and Tom Charrington separated as teenagers, two Vorlat were on Earth as ambassadors. They were killed in a terrorist attack; when the rest of the Vorlat retaliated, they were wiped out. When the Third Doctor encouraged Emily and Tom to stay together, the timeline was averted, and the Vorlat were able to perform negotations between the Malorians and the Vulzene.
